Ahhh finally!! I’m SO excited to show you all our little girl’s nursery reveal today! I think this has to be one of my most favorite rooms I’ve completed to date. As you might remember, I decided to go a whole other direction in this room a while back. I finally had a clear vision of the perfect smokey grey paint, paired with soft pale pinks, whites, and touches of gold throughout. And that’s exactly what the end result came to be.
So dreamy. This could totally be a bigger kid or even adult room too, minus the crib. I wanted an elegant yet casual nursery with vintage touches for Ellie, and wanted to use these colors while she is little and before she has any say-so about what she wants in her room. I still have a few more years till she will want Elmo or Yo Gabba Gabba plastered about, so I’m going to sit back and relish in my dream nursery for a bit longer. ;)
Ellie has been sleeping in her nursery since she was 4 months old (and she’s now almost a year old), so even though it’s taken me a long time to write about her room, it doesn’t mean it hasn’t been ready for her to sleep in. Just wanted to get that out of the way. It just takes a while with 2 kids to find the perfect things to hang on walls etc. and before it’s blog worthy, so….yea.
Ok let’s see…the white dresser in her room I already had in a different room, the white crib is the same one Emma used (from Craigslist), the gold starburst mirror I talked about here a long time ago, the bookshelf you’ll see later on is about 50+ years old (a hand me down from my brother, which used to be my aunt’s when she was a kid), and most accessories and frames on the gallery wall are all either from Goodwill, thrift stores, or flea markets. I’ll add a complete source list at the end of the post.
Here’s a shot of the dresser area.
I love this mirrored antique tray and old hand-held mirror and brush I found at the antique store.
The bowl is from Anthropologie.
Love this picture of my hubby and Ellie just days old.
Oh and that gorgeous gold lamp is from Homegoods. It was on clearance and it was so hard not to keep it for myself!
The dress form I got last year from Ross.
Here is the collected gallery wall.
There is still plenty of space to add to it in the future, but the gallery wall is one of my favorite things in here. The old thrifted brass frames with the sweet newborn pics inside…I could stare at all day. And I eyeballed the gallery wall and got it right on my first try. BAM!
It’s hard to believe she’s almost a year old.
In this frame I hung up the onesie she came home wearing from the hospital, along with the newborn bow hat.
I keep extra pillows underneath that bench to play on. The rug is from Target and I love it! It doesn’t shed, is super thick and extra cozy.
On this side of the room is the really old bookshelf that my brother gave me years ago. It was an awful blue/green color so I just threw on some white chalk paint.
I have some books, knick-knacks, and a pink tutu for playing. :)
I brought in my old antique scale and put a pair of antique baby shoes (from the antique store) on it.
The pink ruffle curtains are from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child. I don’t buy anything there without a 20% coupon FYI. There’s always a sale. :) P.S.-If any of you are RH fans or shoppers, all of the pink and grey’s in this room are their “Petal” and “Dove” color.
On this little wall between the main door and the closet door I put up this thrifted brassy ledge and a sign from Homegoods.
It seemed fitting for the room. :)
Here are a few more shots of the room.
If you remember the scrabble tile wall project, you’ll know her nursery started out looking like this:
Then I changed my mind completely and now it’s this.
I’m really really pleased. I think we will keep it like this for at least a few more years! It’s definitely a room that can easily transition into a big girl room once the crib is gone. I can just envision a cute little vanity somewhere in here too so she can sit and play pretend dress-up. :)
Well, what do you think?! I hope it was worth the wait. :)

Magazine ready.
Hi there! I like the way the curtains flow a lot and am curious which ones they are from RH? I think I know, but I don’t like the way that they look on the website. They look so pretty in your room though!!

Very nice! Remember this blog and those beautiful photos…. the room will never look the same… especially if your niece is anything like my daughter. Enjoy your precious little one.
Drop dead gorgeous! I’ve never seen gold look so well suited for a room. The perfect warm enhancement… I’m sold! :)
Simply lovely! Ellie’s nursery has just the right amounts of casualness, cohesiveness, coziness and bling! Love her name, by the way (The embroidered blanket is adorable, too).
Priceless! Such a beautiful room, just wondering if you changed the knobs on your dresser or it came like this? I love it!
This has to be the sweetest little girls nursery ever! I have 2 daughters but their nurseries never were this sweet. My oldest granddaughter is now going on 10 in 2 months and she would love that dress form in her room!
Gold, pink and white is a classic combination for a girl’s nursery. The metal and pearl chandelier on top of the crib gives the room such a dreamy feel. Countrychicdecor had loads of décor like this for your little one. The photo frames clustered on the wall and the round mirrors with a gold frame look absolutely glorious.
I want this room for me!
This room is so beautiful! What a lucky little girl you have. The colors are just breathtaking.
What a stunning nursery, so elegant!
Hi,
I took your formula, and the color came out more brown then grey? Does it look brown in the can?
Thank you,
Ohmygosh! I just stopped by tonight and saw your post on the year in review, and started taking a look and then BAM! I saw the nursery. Ohmygoddess! It is so beautiful I just can’t stop staring at it. I would love all of those elements (except the crib, but certainly the crown and the white airy canopy) in my own room. I have to tell you, I never thought I’d like a starburst (or sunburst) mirror, but yours is gorgeous, beautifully proportioned. I love the gold pulls you put on the dresser. I love the gold frames on your gallery wall. I love that lamp! The colors are so subtle and yet so delicious and rich. Emily, it is truly a beautiful room for your lovely little girl. If it were my room, I would absolutely feel like a Princess who will inherit a throne some day!
Thank you so much Jan I really appreciate it!! I too love her nursery. I want it for myself!
That is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!
This is a very good tip particularly to those new to the blogosphere.

Beautiful! What color paint did u use?
I am very interested in this color. I went to sherwin wiliams with your formula and had a sample done. It came out a clay color no grey at all. Please advise.
I LOVE this paint color. Do you think it would be too dark to paint throughout an entire house? I’m moving into a new house soon, and thinking this may be the neutral that I Paint a couple bedrooms, the hallway, and the living room. What are your thoughts??
Also–I’m obsessed with your bedroom design- I just purchased the echo cozumel comforter– I can’t wait to mimic your creation!
Just so gorgeous! I think putting Sherwin Williams Quietude with that color would be beautiful too! It is my favorite color in my home and is a muted robins egg cashmere looking blue green nuetral that is very close to Benjamin Moore’s Wythe Blue which was their color of the year. You can use this color in any room, it is gender nuetral. I have it in my family room kitchen area with different shades of that mushroom color and a gorgeous coral orange. I took a pic of your mushroom color and am doing my foyer and hallway in it as I think I will love seeing the colors together from each room. You do breathtaking decorating!
I came across your blog late one night while searching for colors for my home. I decided to use the mushroom in my living room and kitchen. It came out better than I imagined. Beautiful color. Thanks for sharing.
I know this was posted years ago, but I just stumbled upon it. I love the color and the nursery! What color is the cream wall? I had a question what direction does you house face and bedrooms? I know weird question, but my home is a north facing home with north and south bedrooms. And picking paint colors have been a headache,I know all paint looks different in different lighting. But I just learned the natural light that comes in on a house that faces north or south totally different. I would love to hear back from you thanks!
