Well, finally after 4 long years, I have put together a paint colors used in our home post! I think I promised one last year too. But 2014 won. Sorry for the delay, but I’m happy and content with these colors and have been for a while, so let’s get it done while the gettin’ is good!
All of these colors are Sherwin Williams colors too just fyi.
Starting off the home tour is the living room which is painted in Balanced Beige, as is the entry way and other main areas downstairs, like the wall with the fake mantel.
Next is the office, which is Mindful Grey.
Yes some things have changed since this picture, but the paint is the same. It is a blue grey in our office, but I used to have it in our bedroom a few years back and it had no blue undertone at all. So it can really vary from room to room.
The laundry room is a fun color, Chrysanthemum.
Our master bedroom has one dark navy accent wall called Naval, and the white walls are painted Alabaster.
The master bathroom walls are painted in Agreeable Grey, and the vanity is painted in Coral Reef.
The kitchen is also painted in Balanced Beige, and the white cabinets are Alabaster. It’s a very nice white.
Here is another picture because the Balanced Beige looks so tan in that above picture because of the sun.
Yes, the above picture is before I painted the pantry door in Iron Ore, a deep charcoal.
The powder bathroom that we just redid is painted all white, in a color called Ibis White.
The gameroom that I still haven’t completed is painted in Oyster Bay. It’s a blue/green/grey.
The nursery is painted in a custom color, Mushroom.
The mudroom stripes are painted in Iron Ore, the same color as the interior doors I have painted around the house.
Last but not least, I wanted to mention that most all of our trim work and wainscoting is painted in Navajo White. It’s a very creamy white, and I might one day start doing it a more brighter white. But that means I’d have to repaint A LOT. Bright white trim makes such a difference though!
But anyway, this completes the paint color post, with a home tour, all in one post! I am so relieved to get this done for you guys, I hope you enjoy. :)
I will continue to update this post as colors change or are added, because we all know I just repaint on a whim, so be sure and save this for the future. I really like seeing all of the colors in one graphic. It’s neutral, but not too neutral, and still has plenty of color. I think it’s a good balance, but what do I know. ;)
And if you click on those hyperlinks above or below the photos in my post, that will take you to the full posts where you can see all of the details about that particular room/project etc.

Do you like/love your interior doors painted dark? I’m trying to make that decision as I type!
Great color selection! I’m using quite a few of the same colors in our home that we are remodeling.
You have great ideas and I like your style!
Decorchick! says
Oh yes definitely do your doors!! Ours our a dark charcoal so it’s not so black, but both I love!

Hi Emily Love your colors. I am especially interested in the undertone colors of the agreeable gray and mindful gray. Finally finished our shower and floor in the bathrom and am looking for a gray color, but do not want purple or blue undertones. Would love gray with brown or green undertone. Are these SW paint colors or color matched? I have been reading that should use special mildew resistant paint in the bathroom. I have always painted with just semi-gloss in the bathroom. Any thoughts on this???
I will send photos when painted.
Thanks for your help.

Hey Dee–those 2 colors I’d say have slight blue undertones. I would go with the balanced beige or a lighter one on that same swatch card if you need lighter. The balanced beige is the color I have in most of our downstairs and it’s grey, with brownish undertones. And I just use satin finish paint in the bathrooms and haven’t had any problems. :)
And yes, these are all SW colors. The only color matched color is Mushroom, which is listed on the graphic.

Thanks, I will make a trip to SW to see the colors. I really like all three, so it may be a hard choice. I will let you know what I end up with. There is one more color I was considering, it is an Olympic color Silver threads with the darker for the vanity Georgian gray? Just do not know how Olympic paint will hold up in the bathroom.
I will beso happy when this project is complete!!
Thanks for your help your home is georgous.

Don’t know why my post came up anonymous but it is from me.

SO pretty! I haven’t read through all of the comments, so I apologize if this has been asked already. Are the colors pretty true in person the way they appear at the top where you have them posted? I’m wondering if the balanced beige and mindful grey have a touch of lavender in them.. or is it just the way they appear here.. or maybe it’s my eyes.. lol. They’re beautiful colors. I’ll have to stop in to Sherwin Williams..
Thank you,
Leeanne

me again Emily… My home is 130 years old and we’ve been here for quite a while and I’m finally doing all the things that I’ve loved for so long.. spent many years taking care of so many other things.. and now it’s my turn. I want a coastal.. open, airy look.. but also love the cheery look that you have also.. your home as such a happy feeling to it. I’m still so undecided.. I love the coastal look.. not to be confused with a “nautical” look.. don’t like that at all. So I decided that I will do all white.. with a bright white trim and then maybe slowly add some soft coastal colors. Of course.. I already shared my downstairs powder room with you and did the wainscotting in the same coral color as your vanity. The wainscotting is only in a small little nook behind my white pedistal sink.. the rest of the room is a lovely lacy tone on tone taupe with cream wall paper. the only wall paper that survived my renovation.. the rest came down with the walls!!! I absolutely love the dark doors..and my interior doors are so very pretty with the panels, but I think it may be too much of a contrast with the white walls. do you have any thoughts on this? thanks Emily!

We had Navajo White in our home – but the first winter I found it very depressing. We live in New England – where it is gray and gloomy all winter. I repainted everything…it took forever, but a brighter white makes a huge difference!

I love your colors. I just made a post about our own decorating decisions and I referenced back to your post here. I hope that was ok.

Your home is so lovely! What I like most is the flashy colors of your laundry room and your bathroom. I was a bit skeptical at first about such colors in my home interior because I was scared to get sick of it. However I tried duck blue in my bathroom and I am really satisfied with it! It makes me feel happy. I was inspired by this article which I recommend to you all.

On Pinterest, you posted pics of your White Room Challenge Makeover. Although you stated all items were from La-Z-Boy, I have been unable to find that silver round mirror on the wall. Please tell me where! Love it.

I do accept as true with all of the ideas you have offered for your
post. They are really convincing and can definitely work.
Nonetheless, the posts are too brief for starters.
May you please extend them a bit from subsequent time?
Thanks for the post.

Emily-
Your home is beautiful!!! I am in dire need of an update in my home. I last decorated in 2000 and all my colors are dark red/gold/browns. I have a northern exposure in my kitchen/living area and wan to brighten it up…I have a bunch of gold furniture that I can’t afford to replace. Do you think that balanced beige or oyster bay would be a good compliment to gold furniture? I still have red/gold accents (i.e. rugs)
I would really appreciate your thoughts…
