Hello friends I hope you all had a great weekend. We finally had a cool front in Texas! Today I’m so thrilled to show you all our new living room seating arrangement today! I’ve been itching to do something different in our living room since we only have brown leather furniture in there (which was bought pre-blog days), and we have always needed more seating in there, but more importantly, something to break up all of that leather.

Happy Friday friends I hope you’ve had a good week! I have talked about sleeping on the blog a few times already. I love to sleep. Probably more than most people. I take naps whenever I can and that’s pretty frequently. We got a new bed here, and then talked about the benefits of magnesium in this post which helps for a good night’s sleep, and today I want to share something else that has rocked our world.
I know that y’all know what I do, obviously. I do fun stuff to our house and write about it and you all get to hear about it. But what you don’t hear about probably often enough is what goes on behind the scenes, and HOW I am actually able to write about everything and have it disperse on the www. I just felt in my spirit today to give a little recognition to the guy who actually makes that all possible…
I find it ironic that I’m doing a post on how to paint the perfect stripes, especially since it took me 3 times to get it right, but practice makes perfect right? And well, my stripes came out pretty darn perfect with our textured walls so it deserves a little attention.
I wanted to update you all with how our life has changed with new lights. Really. Might sound silly but I promise you it’s the truth. *Spoiler-giveaway at the bottom of post* About a month ago I showed you all where we installed a Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor dimmer switch in our hallway, which is now a cool striped mudroom! I loved it then and living with it a month or so, I love it even more.
Woohoo who’s ready for Fall?! I know I’ve been talking about Fall since the beginning of the month, soooo, you know I am. :) This year for the Fall mantel I decided I was really digging textures and the rustic look, so that’s how the mantel ended up. Quite a difference from last year’s gold and glam mantel! But something about burlap and pretty textures always draw me in so I went for it and came up with this.

I died a little. She is a superstar, and my favorite designer ever, so it was a little nutso to get to speak with her, but jumped at the opportunity.

Woohoo! I am SO excited to finally share this space with you all! Funny thing is though, is that I’ve never really mentioned I was creating a mudroom. Well, I sort of have a long time ago, but nothing detailed. So surprise, you get a full reveal instead of just snippets. :) I did however mention that I had a striping fail (not to be confused with stripping), and this was the little hallway that I was doing the stripes on. Hey all! I wanted to do a post about 5 different ways you can decorate for Fall and give you a few tips and ideas since it might seem like a daunting task. With as many styles as I like, I’ve had several different looks each year. And often times I’ll do different styles in different areas of our home just so I have a variety. There are just too many pretty things to choose from this time of year so it’s easy to be indecisive!
It’s probably no surprise I love to shop. I love to redecorate and look for new things for our home since I have a tendency to grow tired of something probably quicker than most people. And since shopping behind your computer monitor is even better, that’s when I got happy about a new flash sale site on Amazon called MyHabit.
