Meet My New Yellow Lamps {A Spray Paint Project}

Do you all remember how I’ve been searching for some yellow lamps for about, ohhhh, 6 months now to go in my stepson’s room? If you don’t remember or are new here (hello!), I have.  And guess what?  I never have found any.  But the good news is that I did find some lamps I liked at Homegoods several months… View Post

A Pretty Yarn Wreath

You all have seen them around, love them, and have probably made one yourself already.  The beloved yarn wreaths. I wanted to make one for Fall, but it turns out this wreath will pretty much match our house year-round without looking too Fall-y, so that’s a bonus. It’s so simple to make one, but I’ll still go through the brief… View Post

The Breakfast Room Makeover

Hi everyone!  I started the breakfast room redo a few months ago (maybe more), and finally just finished it.  Hooray for several month long projects! ;) Here is the before, of when I redid it the last time… I got tired of the Tobacco Road and repainted the kitchen (Sherwin Williams Balanced Beige) to go with the rest of the… View Post

The New Living Room Wall!

Well our gallery wall and board and batten is done. And….we love it!! Let’s first take a look at the before picture of this wall in our living room before I show you the rest. You know, the one where the picture is hung too high? :)  Well since this is a big 2-story wall, it needed something with a… View Post

Making Your Doors Pretty With Molding (and a How-to)

Hi everyone, hope you had a great weekend! July around here is a crazy busy month, but actually the whole summer has been. :) But, I am so thrilled with how this latest project I finished up last week turned out. Like, it may be one of my favorite projects to date. Remember when I had my Molding Link Party… View Post

The Great Outdoors {The Patio Reveal}

I don’t think I’ve ever shown you all our patio, and we actually have a nice one!  We had it added on about 2 years ago.  Having a patio is pretty much a must in Texas, and when we bought our home all that was there was a tiny little square piece of concrete, and a little bitty overhang that… View Post

A DIY Disaster

Last week I got a wild hair and decided to stain our kitchen cabinets a darker color.  Uh yea, still talking about the kitchen.  I thought I could be a smarty pants and not sand our cabinets and strip the original finish off first.  BIG MISTAKE.  I can laugh about my miserable attempt now, but I was not a happy… View Post

Where Does All That Stuff Go?

Have you ever wondered where all of the bloggers put their “stuff” a/k/a decor and accessories when they aren’t using them? Well, I always wondered that when I started blogging, especially for the ones who are always making cute crafts.  I’d always think “where in the world can they store all of this stuff?!”  Hence the reason I’ve slowed down… View Post

Some Spray Paint Magic {A Table Redo}

First let me say a HUGE thank you to all of you that commented on the skincare post!! Wow! Y’all are awesome, and I read all of the comments and I have tons of great information now and many new products to try.  I will keep you posted on how the ole’ face turns out. :) And now for the… View Post

The New Entry

It’s time to show how the entry way looks now after the new paint and with everything back up on the walls, so come on in! All of the accessories are pretty much the same, but the only new addition is that round mirror hanging on that little wall above. It’s my new favorite thing. When my husband first saw… View Post

Molding Highlights!

I’ve been having so much fun going through all of the link-ups from the molding party!  Y’all are AMAZING and thank you so much for joining the party!  I loved all of them and wish I could highlight them all.  But since I can’t do that, I encourage everyone to go back to the molding link post and visit some… View Post

Because I’m Cool Like That. :)

Y’all know I love me some chalkboard paint, yes?  And the only request my stepson had since I’ve been redoing his room is to have a chalkboard wall somewhere in there.  But something about painting black on the wall scared me a little bit.  But, I got over it and got to work, so therefore I’m calling myself “cool” for… View Post

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
