Molding Link Party!

Yay, it’s party time!!  You all know I have professed my love for molding, or moulding as some say, many times.  I can’t get enough of it!  I think it’s elegant, modern, classic, timeless, and just straight up cool.  So that’s why I thought it would be a fun idea to have a link party where you all can show… View Post

How To: The Paneled Wall

Thanks for all of the love on my stepson’s new paneled wall!  We just love it, and so does he! Ok, now on to the tutorial.  I have to give a special thanks to Rambling Renovators first and foremost for the inspiration behind this project.  If you haven’t checked out their paneled wall yet, you must do that.  They even… View Post

The Paneled Wall Is Finished!

*Update* – Click here for the tutorial. Looks much better painted, yes? :) And a few more shots… And one of my favorite parts of the wall is this. No matter where you look, the wall makes crosses!  I didn’t even realize that until I was painting.  But I think that’s super cool. It’s a very holy wall. :) The… View Post

Let’s Have a Party! {A Molding Party}

Hi everyone!  As I’ve been working on the boy’s room, I was thinking it would be a great idea if I had a link party where all of you can show off any projects you’ve done that included any kind of molding, wainscoting, what have you.  That’s how I was inspired to do the paneled wall by seeing it on… View Post

Progress on the Boy’s Room

This is where we are on my stepson’s room with the paneled wall. Everything has been caulked, spackled, and sanded so it’s all ready to be painted white. Hopefully I can do that tonight after American Idol. (Go team Casey and team Lauren!). And we decided instead of having just a bunch of boxes on the wall like I was… View Post

The Boy’s Room

My stepson (and my stepdaughter’s) rooms need some serious TLC.  We haven’t really done anything to their rooms.  Lot’s of hand-me-down and mixed matched things in their rooms.  But it’s time to fix that and make their rooms a nice little retreat. Here is his room as it is today. And I am sorry–it was so hard to get a… View Post

From Mediocre to Marvelous: A Beadboard Bar

I’ve been soooo excited to share this project with you all! It was SO easy, a quick project, and only $20 bucks! I love easy beadboard ideas, so let me introduce you to our new beadboard bar! I have been wanting to put up beadboard under our kitchen bar for quite a while.  Originally I was just going to use… View Post

My Junk

We have not 1, not 2, but THREE junk drawers in the kitchen. Why oh why?  I’ve been meaning to clean them out for about 2 years now.  And there’s nothing better to get your mind off grey paint choices than organizing drawers. I should warn you about the before photos, but I’m sure you’d expect nothing less from me… View Post

Wainscoting Question

I’m going to add the wainscoting like I did on this wall, and in the office, to the living room.  There are really only 2 connecting walls in this room, and one of them is full of windows. So, I plan on doing it to this wall on the right… But my question is, would you also do it on… View Post

The Toys, The Toys, Oh…And The Toys

As the little one grows, so do the toys.  Sometimes we can’t resist buying that gigantic stuffed animal at Cracker Barrel for her, you know, since she’s already claimed it and is hugging it oh so tightly with her little paws carrying it around the store. Yea, we are those parents…sometimes. But this little basket I was using for all… View Post

I Want To Do This. Should I?

Isn’t that paneling gorgeous?  That image is from Phillip Sides who does lovely work. And I am thinking of doing it to this big wall… Sorry for the Christmas photos…it was raining and dark ALL day yesterday.  All Christmas decor is stored and put away and it feels so good. :) But my question is, should I do the above… View Post

There’s a New Book in Town…

An e-book that is!  Altar’d has done it again and just released their second e-book “Decorative Finishes for Furniture.” It will teach you how to use metallic paints, silver leaf, chalkboard paint, stencils and much more, and all on your furniture!  How fabulous.  I know I have a lot of questions when I see all of those pretty pieces of… View Post

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
