DIY Aqua Painted Mason Jar

Hey everyone, here is a really quick and simple project that anyone can do in just a matter of about 5 or 10 minutes (plus drying time).  I made this pretty aqua vase from a mason jar I already had, and I love how it turned out! Pin It It’s not your traditional mason jar and that’s why I love… View Post

The Boy’s Room Makeover!

Well, I’m finally going to reveal my stepson’s room today.  I started his room pretty much exactly 1 year ago, but that doesn’t mean it took me that long to finish it.  It’s actually been done for quite some time, but I just haven’t written about it yet. :)  He is in the tween years too, and I think this… View Post

Closing in a Wall

Remember our gameroom/multipurpose room?  It’s a room that I haven’t done anything to except paint and add board and batten to. And I haven’t blogged about this room in over a year. Sad, I know.  What’s even more sad is that nothing has changed in this room since then!  I hope to change that soon though, but first I need… View Post

An Update on the Pantry Carousels

Remember the pantry carousels we all know and love? [pinit] Well I am still getting TONS of emails daily about them and questions about when my Dad will be able to make and sell them again. I had updated the original post to say that they are on hold indefinitely right now because he is too busy, but you all… View Post

Our New White, Pink, and Grey Bedroom

Yes it’s true. Our master bedroom has undergone a few changes yet again.  When I started using the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint toward the end of last year, I couldn’t stop.  And I ended up painting all of our furniture in our bedroom white.  And then I decided to go pink and grey with the rest of the decor, so… View Post

10 Advent Calendar Tutorials

Well Christmas is literally just around the corner, I can’t believe it!  And if you are planning on making an advent calendar this year, it’s already time to start thinking about it since they need to be displayed by December 1. :)  So I’ve compiled a list of my 10 favorite DIY advent calendars floating around the net, and hopefully… View Post

Take The Paint Away From Me!

I did plan on showing you all some updates to our master bedroom today, but ummm, over the weekend the paintbrush just jumped in my hand, and landed on this: Why yes, that would be our bed.  I had no intentions on painting it since I recently painted our dresser, but I have issues and so it happened. It’s times… View Post

Our Bedroom Dresser Got a Makeover!

Remember the dresser in our master bedroom that I hated?  Well, hate might be a strong word, but I’ve said before I don’t really like it.  And I haven’t found anything I like to replace it yet, soooo, out came the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and now I loooooove it! If I was fancy I would have inserted little red… View Post

My Thoughts and Tips on The Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

I mentioned in the dresser makeover post that I don’t plan on doing a full tutorial or anything on using the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (and referenced and linked to several other bloggers that already have). But I did want to talk a little bit about my experience using the paint because I think this is something you all should… View Post

The Chalk Paint Dresser!

Remember last week when I mentioned I was going to be playing with the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint?  Well I was going to test it out on my stepdaughter’s dresser, and here it is all painted up… I didn’t do any distressing to this piece or any cool color combos that a lot of people do. I just used the… View Post

I’ll Be Playing With This Today…

Some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Not to be confused with chalk board paint, because they are both very different things. :) I’ve never used it before, but decided to buy some from a local distributor the other day and try it out.  Hey, if what it claims is true about no priming necessary, no sanding, and sticks to basically any… View Post

Oh Sweeeeeet Velvet {And Some Office Changes}

Our home office hasn’t changed much at all since we converted the dining room almost a year ago (except for the new flooring). And being the crazy person that I am (because a year is entirely too long without changes), I was itching for just a few subtle updates. And now enters our sweet new velvet curtains. I wanted something… View Post

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
