When I was getting this post ready and going through all of 2013’s blog posts/projects, man, it was a good year! We accomplished quite a LOT I think. Ask me how and I can’t tell you that, but all I know is that we did it. :)

Hey guys, my hubby is posting today since he’s the genius behind making our garage amazing, so enjoy! Hello everyone. I’m Emily’s husband and she asked me to share with y’all my experience installing our Flow Wall storage and organization system. (Please see the makeover post for the before and afters) I’ll be the first one to tell you that I shudder at the thought of putting things together. I have spent countless hours putting together things like swedish furniture, shelves and entertainment systems, staring blankly at hundreds of parts that look NOTHING like the crude illustrations on the poorly written instructions I am trying to decipher. For an ADD/OCD person like me, I’m not lovin’ it. I am very pleased to announce that the Flow Wall system was the easiest, most well documented system I have ever had the pleasure to build. I was left with a sense of pride and accomplishment when I was finished, which is very rare for my OCD.
I have some BIG news today friends!! Over the past several weeks my husband and I have been working like crazy people giving our garage an overhaul! More so my husband, since I still went to bed at usual time while he stayed up late in the garage. Bless him.
Remember three years ago I wrote a post on our horrific garage? Well fast forward 3 years and it only got worse. Much worse. But I’m happy to report it is amazing now!!
Hi all! Hope you had a great weekend. I finally was able to snap a few photos of our much new and improved breakfast room over the weekend. I mentioned a few weeks ago we took advantage of World Market’s big furniture sale they had and got our new table and chairs from there. And I just love them so much.
Today’s the day friends! I’m super excited to reveal the white room challenge that I participated in a few weeks ago with La-Z-Boy! You know, the empty room with the beautiful coral sofa in it. You all seemed to love the coral sofa too in my novel of a post, so I was happy about that. I love having new things to share and was so happy when I put up some board and batten in the master bathroom! I wanted to give it a little more of a luxury feel without breaking the bank, and easy board and batten was the trick.
Hello friends I hope you all had a great weekend. We finally had a cool front in Texas! Today I’m so thrilled to show you all our new living room seating arrangement today! I’ve been itching to do something different in our living room since we only have brown leather furniture in there (which was bought pre-blog days), and we have always needed more seating in there, but more importantly, something to break up all of that leather.

So here’s the new seating area, and my new non-leather chair, hallelujah.
I find it ironic that I’m doing a post on how to paint the perfect stripes, especially since it took me 3 times to get it right, but practice makes perfect right? And well, my stripes came out pretty darn perfect with our textured walls so it deserves a little attention.
I wanted to update you all with how our life has changed with new lights. Really. Might sound silly but I promise you it’s the truth. *Spoiler-giveaway at the bottom of post* About a month ago I showed you all where we installed a Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor dimmer switch in our hallway, which is now a cool striped mudroom! I loved it then and living with it a month or so, I love it even more.
