The Great Pantry Makeover

Well, well well!  I never thought I could love a pantry as much as I do now.  Actually, I never thought I would even give the pantry a makeover.  After all, it’s just a pantry.  But boy oh boy, how life changing this pantry makeover was.  Seriously. Let me first give props and a BIG thank you to my Dad…. View Post

The Evolution of Our Dining Room

This post takes a lot of courage y’all.  It should be quite humorous for you, embarrassing for me.  Just remember that everyone starts from somewhere and has to make do with what they have, and people’s decorating styles change okay? :) Here is how our dining room looked for about a year after we moved into this beautiful beige home…. Multipurpose Room Progress: Board and Batten!

To satisfy my love of all kinds of different styles and colors, I decided to do board and batten on the one big wall in our upstairs multipurpose room. :)  The upstairs will have a different vibe than the downstairs, and I think that’s so fun!  Probably a design rule no-no, but I don’t follow rules. :) I know I… View Post

Crown Molding in Dining Room w/Tutorial

Well me and the hubs did a DIY project all by ourselves!  We installed crown in our dining room.  It was actually very easy, inexpensive, and anyone can do this, trust me.  I love doing things to our home that adds value, and architectural features definitely do that.  I’ll give a brief tutorial as I go. Here is our dining… View Post

I Saw a Great Idea…How to Get Beautiful Photos

Hi everyone!  I saw this idea over on AliLilly and I thought it was pretty brilliant.  She made a CHEAP and EASY photo box, and the photos for her jewelry look like they came from a professional now!  And no, she doesn’t have a fancy smancy camera or anything.  But you could use this idea for a lot of photos… View Post

A Cute Little $5 Bench

I found this bench at the thrift store for $5.  Can you believe that??  I thought it was so adorable, but my husband, ummm notsomuch.  He seriously wanted to put it by the curb for trash pick up.  Shame on him! And I’m sorry, this has to probably be one of the worst “before” photos in all of blogland, but… View Post

A Rosette Wreath

I had a few rosette flowers left over from when I put them on our lamps in the master bedroom.  I thought I would put them to good use and make a wreath!  For the tutorial on how to make these easy and lovely things, click here. First, I started out with a small foam wreath from the dollar store…. View Post

How To: Fake Wainscoting

Remember my “Difference Molding Can Make” post?  If you don’t, I’ll be nice and show you the after picture again when we put up the chair rail and framed boxes… I liked it, but wanted to try something different.  We have textured walls, so I was a little scared to try this, but I have seen others do board and… View Post

My First Attempt at Sewing

Yes, that’s right, sewing.  I’ve been wanting to learn for a long time, and I finally did.  We’ve had a brand spankin’ new machine my mom got us for Christmas that hasn’t been touched really since then.  But last week a sweet friend of mine, Sherri, came over and taught me.  She showed me how to make a pillowcase dress… View Post

A Princess Birthday Party Hat

Well, luckily you can’t see my tears through your computer screen, but my little princess is going to be 1 year old on Friday.  It’s been very emotional for me planning her little party.  I just can’t believe she’s almost 1.  It doesn’t take much for me to cry or tear up.  I’ve been tearing up walking the aisles at… View Post

What I Created Out of an Old Drawer

Remember this drawer I found for a buck at the resale shop? Well, I got to thinking how this would make a great candle holder! Then my instinct was right, and stumbled upon this lovely color of spray paint… Ohhh Catalina Mist, how I love you!   I saw this shade at Hobby Lobby and knew it would be perfect… View Post

A Book Makeover! Yes, A Book Makeover…

This was probably the easiest little project I’ve done to date.  But it’s sooo cute!! I had these 2 books that I got at a resale shop recently… Well I took that blue one and fixed her up! First I spray painted it Heirloom White.  I did tape around all of the pages so I could leave them old and… View Post

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
