The Spring and Easter Mantel!

I can’t believe it’s finally Spring! Well, it feels like it is anyway. Did anyone actually have a real winter this year? We sure didn’t! But anyway, I love how this year’s Spring mantel turned out and I can’t wait to show you!

I call it the simple and elegant spring mantel. :)  I love the touches of gold and soft pink together too.  I love love love how the bargain sunburst mirror looks up there too!

I flanked the mirror with 2 large vases from Homegoods and filled them up with my favorite spring flower, spider mums.

They last forever too which is great.

The speckled eggs I fell in love with at Homegoods too and they had to come home with me.

They are the perfect shade of pink in my opinion. They are more of a blush color, like the new duvet cover in our master bedroom.

These pink paper eggs also came from Homegoods and I just put them in my big cloches from Hobby Lobby.

Oh goodness, this faberge egg also came from Homegoods!

I thought it would tie in nicely with the mirror.  Maybe I should have called this the Homegoods mantel? ;)

Here’s an apothecary jar I’ve had for a while filled with moss and an egg. And I had to put a birdie by it. :)

Here are a few more shots.

I just love it!  I loved last year’s too, so if you missed it you can check it out here.

What do you think?  Are you ready to get out the birdies and the nests yet?  After doing the mantel I am ready to do a few other spring vignettes around the house.  Something about fresh flowers and birds just makes me happy.  :)

Welcome Spring!

Oh, p.s. – if you want the chance to win a $250 gift card to Ballard Designs, be sure and enter Hometalk’s giveaway this week.  I was their feature this week which is an honor!

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
