More Flower Pot Cuteness

I did another little project over the weekend with the 4 remaining little flower pots I found at the thrift store recently.  You can click here for that post. We have this area above our front door in the entryway… So I decided to use my 4 little pots and sit them on the ledge above the door and decorate… View Post

My Prized Possessions…Hutch and Buffet Redo

Have you inherited an ugly piece of furniture whenever you got married?  I have.  It was our dining room buffet table.  I’ve lived with it for 4 years now, and it was time for an overhaul when I found this hutch at Goodwill to go on top of it. Goodwill had it marked for $99, and I got it for… View Post

Well, I Thought I Had an Original Idea…

…until I did a search on Google and saw that these have been made…like all over the place!  I should have never searched to make sure.  What a buzz-kill!  It was just too clever that someone other than me thought this idea up.  Haha.  But, I’m still going to show you! So, remember one of my mason jars I just… View Post

Front Porch Facelift

First of all, I don’t really think what we have is considered a “porch” but I didn’t know what else to call it.  Entryway, walkway, or is it a porch? So, here is our porch (or entryway, walkway?) before.  And this picture was from December when it snowed because I was a bad blogger and didn’t take a good before… View Post

My Numbered Flower Pots!

Remember these pots I found at the thrift store recently?  Well part of sprucing up my front porch included painting them.  I haven’t done the small pots yet…those are for inside the house, I think. So I painted them Rustoleum satin black.  I don’t have pictures of that because that is pretty self explanatory. :) But here’s the fun part!… View Post

Rosette Lamps With Easy Tutorial

I wanted to give a quick tutorial on how I made these rosettes for the lamps in our master bedroom redo. I’m sure I am not the first person to do it this way, but all of the tutorials I saw included tying a knot and using a pencil, and/or some sort of sewing was involved. So, I just went… View Post

I Finally Made a Wreath!

My front door has been so naked without anything on it.  I don’t know why wreaths stress me out, but they do.  Then once I do it, it’s SO easy.  But all of those aisles at Hobby Lobby with strands of greenery and flowers everywhere just makes me nervous.  I’m a dork, I know.  I guess when there is too… View Post

Decorating Help Needed

I’d love to hear some suggestions on decorating our t.v. nook in our family room.   I’m talking about the wall the t.v. is on, and the wall around it.  I know part of the redo involves painting over the faux finish inside the nook.  I’m so over it!   But what color to paint?  What should I do with… View Post

Easy Wall Art

When I redid our master bedroom, I didn’t want to buy a lot of art pieces to hang on the wall because I was on a budget, and I wanted something more original.  And I also was liking the simplicity of the room, and didn’t feel like I had to fill up every inch of wall space.  Decorating with plates… View Post

Master Bedroom Redo

*UPDATE* – This room has been redone again, so click here for the latest redo. :) Well our room is just about finished so I’m going to show it now.  :)  I know you probably want to see pictures first, but let me just talk a little bit…or a lot.  This will be a long post, but there will be… View Post

Painted Nightstands

Part of the master bedroom redo involved updating these nightstands.  These are actually living room end tables, but we use them as our nightstands.  They serve their purpose, they are pretty (now they are), and they were free!  I’ve actually had them many years. They came with my furniture set my mom bought for me when I moved out into… View Post

Lace Bottles

I was inspired by a picture I saw in my Flea Market style magazine.  It was a picture of a vase wrapped partially in a doily.  Doilies are popping up everywhere!  Now, I didn’t have any doilies on hand, but I did have some white lace fabric left over from another project. Here is the bottle I did. And yes,… View Post

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
