Valentine Mantel

The Sweet, But Not Too Sweet Valentine’s Day Mantel

Hi friends hope you had a great weekend! I was able to finish up our Valentine’s Day mantel over the weekend and snap some pics because we finally had some sunshine! It’s been a dreary couple of weeks here.  And usually I do some pretty foo-fooey mantels for Valentine’s Day but this year I wanted to bring it down a notch. So I kept the pink boa packed away this year. Haha.

Kitchen Command Centers: Do You Really Use Them?

I’ve been seeing a lot of gorgeous kitchen command centers lately and it got me thinking…that looks AMAZING, but do they always stay that nice and organized and do you really use those fancy calendar systems?  I know myself, know my family, and know that it just wouldn’t work. I would not stay on top of that sort of thing. I write my notes on sticky notes for goodness sakes and paste them all over the computer monitor. BUT…

The Nursery Bed Crown Details {and a Giveaway!}

I knew y’all would love the nursery bedding and bed crown from yesterday! And I know you will love today’s post because one of you will get to win one! Woohoo! Today I wanted to give you a few more details about it and show you how I hung up the curtains etc. It was so easy.

Nursery Progress {Baby Bedding and Bed Crown}

Hi everyone hope you had a great weekend!  I’m so excited to show you all the bedding and the crib and the bed crown in the nursery! I mentioned when I repainted the nursery (again), that I was going in a whole new direction than I previously was. So that means I had to say goodbye to my scrabble tile wall project, but I still have them so maybe we can use again one day.

Here is how it’s looking so far and I am pretty much in love.

Baby Update – 6 Months

Hey guys, a special little weekend post which I rarely do, but I wanted to get in Ellie’s 6 months update before the week started. :)

How To Change The Look of Your Furniture in 5 Minutes or Less

There’s something about painting and making something over that amazes me. And it amazes me each time. I never get tired of it and never tire of transformations.  So do you want to know how to change the look of your furniture in 5 minutes or less? I know this isn’t rocket science or anything new, but like I said, I still get amazed each time I do it!

I Love To Eat, Hate To Exercise, But Something’s Gotta Give

I just have to get something off of my chest.. And I want to talk to y’all about it so grab a cup of coffee or a glass of tea and join me.  Plus it distracts me from the chaos our house is currently in. :) Okay, so it has been 6 months since I had the baby.  And ohhh what a doll she is.  But this pregnancy really did a number on my body.  They say it gets worse after each kid, and I am here to say that the shape definitely does change after the first! My stomach! My rolls! My thunder thighs rubbing together! Gahhhhhh!!!

Lots Going on Around Here

Ever had so many things going on and things to write about that you don’t even know where to begin? Yea, that’s me right now. I guess that’s a good thing though. There’s a million different projects going on currently. And this one started yesterday, and it’s a big one.

Year In Review and My Top Posts {2012}

Wow. I can’t believe it’s 2013 today!! Happy new year everyone! :) I wanted to do a roundup of my top posts from 2012 in case you missed something last year. That sounds weird saying that.  These are some of my favorite posts (15 of them), and just some of my accomplishments and experiences that I shared with you all throughout the year.  It’s so fun to look back down memory lane. So here we go…

I redid our bedroom. Again. This seems to be a yearly occurrence now.

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
