Baby Update – 11 Months

Ellie has gotten so big and changed so much over this last month. Still can’t believe she’s almost 1. She’s still the sweetest little thing, is super sensitive like her mama, and is just overall a great baby. I promise if I had complaints I’d say them so you all don’t think I have the most perfect baby that ever lived or something, but seriously, she’s just an easy going girl. Of course I’ll have days where I am ready to pass her off to Daddy right when he walks in the door and days when I just need to be alone kid-free. So I am normal, I promise. Anyway, I love this picture of her.

A Hawaiian Father’s Day Party

Dads are special guys aren’t they? They deserve to be loved on and celebrated just as much as moms on their special day. So remember when me and my husband had the trip of a lifetime to Hawaii a little over a year ago? That was still the best trip ever. But anyway, since my husband (and myself) loved Hawaii so much, I thought it would be fun to have a little Hawaiian themed Father’s Day celebration at the house and get him lots of treats to remind him of that time.

Clean Table

Can Mr. Clean Really Get the Job Done?

Our patio furniture has seen better days I’ll be quite frank. Heck you’ve seen my disaster of a closet, so why not show you other filth right? It’s the least I can do. I actually do enjoy cleaning when I have the time, which is rare. We go outside on the patio all the time, but kind of just “ignore” the nasty. Why we do that to ourselves I have no clue. Case in point, our coffee table out there.

Nursery Update: The Prettiest Monogram Ever

Hey guys! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted about the nursery. I know I know. I won’t even list excuses but I can say that the full room reveal will be written about before she is walking and toddling around okay? Hold me to it. Even though the room has been technically “done” for quite some time, there were a few final finishing touches I needed. And one is this gorgeous monogram I got from Southern Nest. Oh my heavens it’s so pretty!!

A Happy 3 Years and a Look Back

First off happy Memorial Day everyone! Last week marked my blogiversary of 3 years! Crazy how time flies and how there is so much work still left to be done to our home. You’d think that after writing about it for 3 years now that I’d run out of stuff to talk about and there’d be nothing left to do. So not true. These three years of blogging have been truly amazing. I am beyond blessed and don’t take any single day for granted. But let’s talk about how my style has changed for a sec…

We’re Planting a Garden! And I Need Your Advice.

I am SO excited about this y’all. And thank you all so much for the sweet comments on the weight loss post I truly appreciate it. And in the weight loss post I mentioned how I am addicted to vegetables and crave them ALL the time. And I also mentioned how I recently joined a produce co-op which I’m also excited about, but why not try our hand at growing a few vegetables right here in our own yard?!

It Took 9 Months to Put It On, and 10 Months to Take it Off! {How To Lose Weight and How I Lost 75 Pounds}

Well I have good news today. If you have followed along in my weight loss journey (I’ve only talked about it once here, and once here where I lost 25 pounds), you all know I gained quite a bit of weight with my 2nd baby. 75 pounds to be exact and tipping the scale over the 200 + lb mark at my doctor’s appointments while pregnant wasn’t exactly the greatest feeling. But I’m not here to talk about how I gained weight while pregnant, because well, duh that’s a given, but I’m here today to show you all how I lost those 75 pounds of baby weight!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
