Cloche Goodness

I’m linking up over at Marty’s today for her Summer Cloche Party!  I love cloches and apothecary jars so I wasn’t going to miss this one!  Tons of gorgeous inspiration over there too so go check it out and link up! Here are a few of mine.  This is my newest one and my most favorite. :) Inside the cloche… View Post

What I Created Out of an Old Drawer

Remember this drawer I found for a buck at the resale shop? Well, I got to thinking how this would make a great candle holder! Then my instinct was right, and stumbled upon this lovely color of spray paint… Ohhh Catalina Mist, how I love you!   I saw this shade at Hobby Lobby and knew it would be perfect… View Post

A Book Makeover! Yes, A Book Makeover…

This was probably the easiest little project I’ve done to date.  But it’s sooo cute!! I had these 2 books that I got at a resale shop recently… Well I took that blue one and fixed her up! First I spray painted it Heirloom White.  I did tape around all of the pages so I could leave them old and… View Post

More Flower Pot Cuteness

I did another little project over the weekend with the 4 remaining little flower pots I found at the thrift store recently.  You can click here for that post. We have this area above our front door in the entryway… So I decided to use my 4 little pots and sit them on the ledge above the door and decorate… View Post

My Prized Possessions…Hutch and Buffet Redo

Have you inherited an ugly piece of furniture whenever you got married?  I have.  It was our dining room buffet table.  I’ve lived with it for 4 years now, and it was time for an overhaul when I found this hutch at Goodwill to go on top of it. Goodwill had it marked for $99, and I got it for… View Post

More Thrifty Finds

Went to a local resale shop and scored all of these old mason jars! This one is particularly old with the off-centered “Perfect Mason” and original zinc lid. Who knows, maybe this jar is worth loads of cash and I can retire my husband.   Yea, I know that’s unlikely but it’s ok for me to dream right?  I have… View Post

Front Porch Facelift

First of all, I don’t really think what we have is considered a “porch” but I didn’t know what else to call it.  Entryway, walkway, or is it a porch? So, here is our porch (or entryway, walkway?) before.  And this picture was from December when it snowed because I was a bad blogger and didn’t take a good before… View Post

My Numbered Flower Pots!

Remember these pots I found at the thrift store recently?  Well part of sprucing up my front porch included painting them.  I haven’t done the small pots yet…those are for inside the house, I think. So I painted them Rustoleum satin black.  I don’t have pictures of that because that is pretty self explanatory. :) But here’s the fun part!… View Post

Recent Thrifty Finds

I had a good day thrift shopping and actually found some items I was on the hunt for.  I spent a total of $7 for all of this. Now you may be thinking that isn’t really exciting, but I was because I needed another cheese dome and some flower pots.  I have a few projects lined up for those pots… View Post

Rosette Lamps With Easy Tutorial

I wanted to give a quick tutorial on how I made these rosettes for the lamps in our master bedroom redo. I’m sure I am not the first person to do it this way, but all of the tutorials I saw included tying a knot and using a pencil, and/or some sort of sewing was involved. So, I just went… View Post

I Finally Made a Wreath!

My front door has been so naked without anything on it.  I don’t know why wreaths stress me out, but they do.  Then once I do it, it’s SO easy.  But all of those aisles at Hobby Lobby with strands of greenery and flowers everywhere just makes me nervous.  I’m a dork, I know.  I guess when there is too… View Post

Ikea Goodness

Me and the hubs took our daughter to Ikea today. I know, wasn’t that nice of us?  I haven’t been in a while and it’s only 30 minutes away.  I felt like we were tourists though. I wanted to get some inspiration for our tv nook area to see if anything tickled my fancy.  But mostly, I just came out… View Post

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
