White Room Challenge Makeover Reveal | La-Z-Boy Giveaway

Today’s the day friends! I’m super excited to reveal the white room challenge that I participated in a few weeks ago with La-Z-Boy! You know, the empty room with the beautiful coral sofa in it. You all seemed to love the coral sofa too in my novel of a post, so I was happy about that. And sorry I had to leave you hanging, but I gotta do what I gotta do. :) Anywho, here is the final room…

Oh em gee. I am just as excited about it today and love it so much. Can I just remind you that it would be a total dream job if I was able to design rooms all day long? I had SO much fun. You can read all about the decorating adventures and design dash in this post. Crazy crazy crazy.

Not knowing anything about my room at all when I had to pick out all of the items (in under 2 hours mind you), I chose a variety of different things and styles. Classic houndstooth prints, modern geometric rugs, industrial shelves, and other traditional items I didn’t end up using. But somehow everything just came together. I love mixing styles as you all know, and this room has lots of texture going on if you look around closely. Cozy throws, layered rugs, books, mixed metals, etc. A perfect combo!

Let me just remind you with how this room started out when I first saw it.

I actually just let Michael, who was helping me, fan me all day with big banana leaves while I sat in the comfy chairs.

Not really. It was an insane amount of work, but good work. And I think we rocked it.

FYI-ALL items you see in my room are La-Z-Boy items. Those amazing chairs, the sofa of course, all tables and all accessories. All LZB. I know that Houndstooth fabric is coming out soon, as are the chairs, so stay tuned for that. I think in January?

The coral sofa is the Talbot sofa from La-Z-Boy, with the bells and whistles including down cushions and platinum nailhead trim, and their coral color of leather.

    I’m a bit confused. Is the final result picture taken from a different side of the room than the empty room with just the sofa? Where did the brick gray wall come in? Or did you add a faux wall?

      The wall was a fly wall that we brought in to design the room and add something different. The room is only shot from 1 angle. Then we created a hallway type in the background where the shelves are so it’s more of a home-type setting. Design secrets!

    WOW, your particular room design took my breath A-WAY and I am not easily impressed believe me. It left me speechless, also not an easy feat – LOL. It actually makes me want to get that exact furniture and use those exact colors etc. Seriously. Your room is incredibly tasteful and screams of Classy, Rich and Modern Elegance AND to top it off is very “Inviting!” You left nothing out, you covered it ALL and your choice of accessories just put it over the top.     Emily, I really am amazed at your room. When I first saw your sofa last week it brought back fun memories of the 70’s. I was so in love with coral/orange during that time and had a lot of fun decorating with it. The color even spilled over into my clothing!     I am in need of a new sofa set. The one we now have is over 13 years old, a light floral pattern which I have enjoyed but over time wear and tear have taken over…with four grown children, their spouses, and 12 grandchildren this set holds a lot of memories but it is certainly time to make more memories with a new set.     we picked up a great LZB recliner for my husband during their Labor Day sale. He absolutely LOVES it. I can attest to the quality of their pieces.     I’d really like to have a recliner to replace the one my dad has for a gift to him for Christmas. The one he has is in really rough shape and he is 78 and retired, but he works part-time and takes care of my mom who is handicapped. He still has the stamina to work, cook, tidy up and do all the grocery shopping and errands and laundry, so he literally collapses in his recliner to watch his beloved Yankees and S.U. basketball. He naps in his recliner to – it’s his special “spot”!!!

And After 22 years of kids jumping up & down, laying on it and using it as part of their tent, the poor thing has just had it.     Love your room! I’m always drawn to white rooms, even though it’s totally not feasible with my 3 dirt-magnets.
    We’ve been needing a new couch, ahem, SECTIONAL, for a while now, but it’s not within the budget for the forseeable future. $500 would go a LONG way towards getting us there, and there are a couple we’ve been eyballing at the local LZB :)

We love La-Z-Boy but can’t quite afford it. :( I work full time trying to save money before the baby and my husband has been working 90 hours a week. This would be a huge blessing!!!

Second, if I got lucky enough to win $500 9which I never do, but heres to hoping), I would totally fill the corner of my master bedroom with a suave recliner, deep seated one, for curling up with a good book. If there’s any extra, The kids could totally use a plushy ottoman. :)

    I love a brightly colored sofa. Mine is red. :) But sadly, it’s eight years old and the old cotton twill has had it. :( I’d love a new sofa (or a gift certificate for half the cost of a good sofa!)

    We just had to get rid of our La-z-boy recliner. We got it right after my first child was born, and it spent years rocking kids, being slept on and cuddling everyone in our family. It finally went to furniture heaven…We all miss it and that’s what I would get! :)

    I would love to find a great area rug. I have been on the hunt for some time but we are always moving and the spaces very greatly, this next move will be the last for some time and an area rug would help pull the room together and make it feel more like home.
