Some New Mirrors Really Made a Difference! {And Spring Mantel}

Ever since we have had the faux mantel in the entry/living room, I’ve had the same mirrors up on either side flanking it. They were fine, but I really needed something more. Our house has evolved and changed so much since we got that mantel, so I needed some mirrors that look more updated like the rest of the house.  I’ve been considering these mirrors at Target ever since I first saw them. Then they finally went half off so I snagged them up.

Entry Mirror

If you remember, these are the ones I had up for the longest time.

I like the new ones much better!

Coffee Filter Wreath

I dug out the coffee filter wreath that I made a few years ago out of the closet and hung it on the old window. I wanted the mantel simple so I just threw up some blue-green glass bottles I’ve had for a long time too. Also, they were in the closet. :)

Here’s a few more.

Spring Mantel

Target Mirrors

And that’s it! Simple, but a difference and they go with the rest of the house now. It may have taken 2 years to find them, but finding what you really want takes time. :)

What do you think? And yes I stole this chair from the kitchen desk, and that pillow that everyone asks about is that Dwell Studio one from Target but they don’t sell anymore. Boo!

Love those mirrors! I have looked at them several times too when at Target. I’ll have to see if they are on sale at mine too.

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
