The Fall Mantel

Well it’s that time of year again…Fall!!  And nothing gets me more excited than to decorate the mantel (and the house) with Fall decor.  It’s just a cozy time of year. :)

This year I went with a rustic look and used lots of natural elements and textures.  I was going to try and do a more modern mantel this year, but every time I see the beautiful classic Fall colors of red, orange, and brown, I just love them and want to use.  Can’t help myself. :)

You’ll see I have my yarn wreath, the Ballard knock-off books, and a lot of my antique goodies on here like the old window, the scale, and the giant acorns.

I found that mango wood bowl at Target on clearance for $11, because a piece of wood was broke. Nothing a little hot glue can’t fix. :)  But the bowl is perfect for my acorns!

I bought the galvanized pails at Garden Ridge for $5 and used them as vases.  I just used the same foliage I had from last year’s mantel, and added some wheat straw for more height.

And my antique scale which I love!

The pumpkin is just sitting on a piece of scrap burlap.  Nothing says Fall like a little burlap. :)

And just a few more…

I love how the mantel colors tie in with the new office curtains too!

And that’s a wrap!  What do you think?  Are you diggin’ the rustic/natural vibe too, or are you going to go more mod this year with your decor?  I love many different styles and colors and it’s hard to choose!

And I’ll be participating in these lovely ladies’ Fall parties which are coming up…

So get ready and link up to Layla’s Mantel Party!

Oh my gosh I was just thinking about your mantel the other day! Wishing I had that cute mantel rather than mine. Not that I don’t love my mantel, ( I actually 5 fireplaces with mantels, but only decorate the one in the family room) but I also have built ins next to it and it never fails that I end up changing them out as well. Yours is just so perfect to decorate, and I would have to say, this is my favorite look you have done so far since you scored the mantel. Great job!
