My Fake Mantel

Yesterday I showed you all the awesome mantel I scored at the Pottery Barn outlet.  Now today, I will show you her all fancied up for Fall.  :)  I just want to kiss it!

Do you want to kiss it too?  Too bad! :)

I am SO in love with having a mantel to decorate.  And the best part is that I had everything already!  I just stole the things from the top of my dining room hutch.  All I bought new was the floral from Hobby Lobby and the big A initial.  When I bought the A, I was planning on spray painting it, but once I put it up I actually liked the gold with everything.  And those were the white urns I had on my hutch, so I just took off the lids to use as vases.

If you remember, that wall used to look like this…

I still like it, but love the mantel so much more.  And don’t worry, those pictures will be moved to other walls.

I couldn’t stop taking pictures, so now I will just show them all. :)

This was the perfect spot for my new Modern Bird art.  :)

Ahhh so whatcha think?  You have started decorating for Fall now right??  I started in August!  But I am SO glad I finally did get this.  Really was a great deal for $150.  And I am so excited to be able to decorate a mantel now! Woohoo!!

    I wasn’t sold when you showed the previous post, but now that it’s decorated, OMG I LOVE it.

    I liked the way your hall was before, but I love this so much more. The white mantle really stands out so much more and because it’s so big it seems to really fill the space well.

    Oh my gracious this is gorgeous! I love that PB mantle. I actually found an old piece of window trim from this old house of ours in the basement and have something like this in mind for it. Again…just gorgeous! Its my favorite thus far on nester’s Llinky.

    Ohhh. I’ve wanted that mantle from PB since I saw it in the catalog. I am officially a really unattractive shade of green over here about it, since I live nowhere near a PB outlet… it’s sooooo faabulous! Love it, love it. LOVE it.

    It is perfect! I liked your photos, but seeing this there is so much better! It really fills the space much better. Gorgeous!! I need one! do you have anything directly opposite of the mantle? Hallways are always tricky for me!

    Love your PB mantel!!! I felt the same exact way when I went to San Marcus and discovered the Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel outlets!!! Love it!!!!!!! I spent like 3 hours in PB alone :o) When I saw your first post about it I knew it was in San Marcus and I got a little excited I have to admit :o) Love your blog, your decor, and your ideas :o)

    We don’t have a fireplace in our new house and I really miss having a mantle to decorate for the different seasons! Your PB mantle was a wonderful score and they way you have it decorated is perfect for fall!

    I didn’t even see the “before” picture yet, but I love what you did with it. I like this a lot better than the pictures only because the white of the mantel goes with the molding and makes that stand out more. I’d be excited over such a great find too!

    I absolutely LOVE the mantel and how you’ve accessorized it! The floating shelves were beautiful, too, but I think the mantel has a lot more personality and oomph! Great job. Happy new year!

    I really like the idea of a fake mantel. In my house there is a spot where there used to be a fireplace, but they had it removed, for some reason (it was in a bad location for a fireplace). They also removed the mantel. Now there is a fireplace sized cubby that looks out of place. I think a faux mantel might help with that.

    Very nice! Love the way the candles uplight the photos. And the abundance basket serves as a great reminder. Very pretty.
