Hi everyone hope you had a nice weekend! I have been a little gold happy lately. I just can’t help myself. It makes me, well…happy. And we’ve had this little side table in our living room for forever now, and it was pretty beat up. And not my style any longer. So I went gold-happy on it too and made it a very easy DIY gold metallic table!

Simple Fall Decorating and Vignette | With Huge Mercury Glass Vase
Remember last week when I talked about decorating with large vases and accessories? Those large vases really make a statement, and in that post I mentioned that I had just gotten one. I’d call it my first big statement piece as far as accessories go. But anyway, I did some simple Fall decorating and created a little vignette on our entryway table/dresser using said new large vase, and here she is.

Happy Monday and happy labor day everyone!! And since it’s labor day that means it’s now September, so that means it’s officially time for Fall!! At least here in Texas that’s what it means, even though it’s 100 degrees outside. But you know all of those beautiful deco mesh wreaths you see everywhere? Ones that cost a small fortune? Well today I’m going to show you how to make a gorgeous burlap and deco mesh wreath perfect for Fall, and perfect for your budget since it will only cost you about $10-$15. Yea!

How To Decorate With Large Vases and Accessories
First I have to say thank you all for the sweet sweet comments on my smile makeover post! Y’all are so nice and it’s nice you all are rejoicing with me in the new look! :) So today I want to talk about decorating with large accessories, particularly large vases. Whenever you browse around the pretty magazines, one thing you’ll always pretty much notice is a large oversized vase. And if the vase isn’t oversized, the flowers coming out of it will be. Almost an overflowing effect. I’ve gathered a few inspiration pics for you all to study.
A Smile Makeover | New Porcelain Veneers and Crowns
Well guys, today’s post I’ve been very excited to share with you all. You might think I’m nuts, and that’s okay, but it’s these types of makeovers that change your life that are the best ones. When I posted about losing all of 75 lbs of the baby weight a few months back (which I consider one of my best makeovers), something else happened too. Another life process. One of those things in life that you just usually find a reason to put off for years and can make up all sorts of good excuses, and justifiable ones at that! But, I’m thrilled to say that I quit making excuses and made this happen….my smile makeover with new porcelain veneers and crowns.
New Blog Project Galleries Are Up and Running!
Hey guys happy Friday! I’ve been having a great time with my family that’s visiting this week, and today is also my birthday so it’s good to celebrate it with them. :) But ever since we did the blog redesign a few months ago, I didn’t have the project galleries up but I’m happy to say that now they are up and running!
New Outdoor Patio Additions
Hey guys! Today’s a happy day since my Alabama family is coming into town and staying a week! I’ve been crazy busy like a mad woman getting everything cleaned up and ready. And the outdoor area wasn’t left behind either. You all know this summer I’ve been creating different WoCave’s, or places that I feel inspired and empowered. To me, that also means places that I can relax and chill. So for this particular WoCave mission I have some new outdoor patio additions to get me to that happy place. :)
Office | In the Bedroom
Hey everyone hope you had a great weekend! We actually had a slight front come through giving us some gorgeous weather! Today I’m excited to show you all our little office in the bedroom. Remember I had mentioned this before last year and how we needed one and even wrote a post on pretty ways to have a desk in your bedroom. I am all for utilizing every inch of your home for whatever purpose you need it to serve. And since many homes don’t have a dedicated office room or an extra room to spare, it’s completely fine to make a little nook in your bedroom, which is exactly what I did.
Replacing The Light Switches
That may not be the most exciting title you’ve ever seen, but trust me, it’s exciting. Why? Because I replaced a regular light switch in our hallway with a Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor dimmer switch! Why is this exciting? Because it’s hands free and we don’t have to physically turn on the lights anymore! When we walk in the hallway it detects motion and turns on like magic.
Okra | Roasted With Rosemary
I get asked all the time how I cook my okra. Remember that okra I planted a few months ago in our garden? Man it has really taken off. And because of that we eat okra at least twice a week, sometimes 3. :) If you follow me on Instagram (@decorchick1) you’ve seen an okra picture probably more times than you care to. But, everyone always asks how I make it, and one of my favorites is roasted okra with Rosemary. Mmmm!
