How to Organize Your K-Cups and Coffee Pods {For Free}

Any coffee lovers out there?  We are big drinkers (of coffee) and have one of those Keurig coffee machines and use it every day, several times a day.  We love it!  But I did not love the boxes that the K-cups come in and the space that they waste.  So I had to come up with something to organize them all in and I didn’t want to buy one of the holders that Keurig makes and sells.  And this is what I came up with.

Coffee Organization

Like I said I didn’t want to spend money on the holders they sell in the stores because I think they are overpriced, and they don’t hold all of the K-cups that come in the box, especially if you have several kinds of coffee/tea like we do. So it wouldn’t really have solved my messy box problem anyway.  I needed something big that could hold several pods.  And I also needed it to be free because I didn’t want to go out to the store the other day so I had to be resourceful and use what I had around the house.

Here is how this part of our pantry looked before when we had just the K-Cup boxes.

Coffee Mess

It drove me nuts! So all I did was grab a basket I had in my closet…

Basket Storage

Cut off the cardboard flaps from a diaper box to use as my dividers…

Diaper Box

And just stuck them in the basket.

K Cups

I said I was resourceful didn’t I? :) 4 dividers should be enough for us, but if I need to add more in the future I easily can.  For ours I labeled them Medium Roast, Dark Roast, Decaf/Half-Calf and Teas.  You of course can have as many or as little as you’d like. :)  And if you don’t have diaper boxes handy, just use anything stiff–cardboard works good though and if you are feeling extra crafty you can even spray paint the cardboard for a more pretty factor.  :) For the labels I just used pinking shears and cut some cardstock I had, then used a chalk pen to write with.

I love how the new basket looks in our pantry though!

Organized Pantry

Organized Pantry

So much better and prettier than the messy boxes everywhere. Now, is this the project of the year? No, but it’s functional and it was free.  And it holds ALL of our coffee.

Coffee Organization

It works for us!

Oh and you can find more about our pantry here, and I even made a special trashcan a while back for coffee pods too (that was when we had the old Tassimo machine, but we still use it for our new Keurig machine and K-cups!)

How do you organize all of your coffee pods?  Have you bought one of those carousel things or drawers they make? If so take it back and use a basket and cardboard instead. (kidding) :)

xxoo,

Decorchick!

I love this easy (and cute!) solution! My mom puts hers in a basket, too, next to her Keurig machine. I think it looks so homey and sweet! :-)

I *love* this idea! I bought a k-cup carousel several years ago and you’re right…it doesn’t hold all the k-cups. Your basket is a much better solution. Great job spending no money on something that functions well and looks so cute in your pantry!

This is too cute! I haven’t been able to bring myself to buy a carousel either. I use a a decorative fruit basket that has two tiers and it holds about 50!

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
