Z Gallerie Goodness

A few weeks ago I took my Mom to Z Gallerie for the first time.  I was hoping she would love it (how could you not?!), and hoping it wasn’t too modern for her.  But apparently she is getting in touch with her modern side like I am, and she loved the store.  Yay for shopping vicariously through someone!

So what did she come home with that day?  Some pillows and this beautiful chair.

Goodness, it’s so pretty.  This chair was sitting up at the front near the counter and there was only 1.  Turns out it was a floor model they were trying to get rid of, and the guy sold it to her for $300!  (and no, $300 isn’t exactly cheap for a chair, but it’s a good deal at Z Gallerie for sure).  The chair is originally $500-something.  They don’t even have it online and I’m not sure why. But I do know most stores received this chair a few months ago and that it’s on sale now, so maybe you could call around if it’s something you would like and see if they still have theirs for sale.

Then my Mom went back a week later with my stepdad and they came home with this…

And this.

Isn’t that mirror craaaazy?!  Crazy in a good way. And the picture is really pretty too.  And those are the pillows she got on her first trip with me and I love them.  That lamp on the right is from Lowe’s.

Keep in mind my Mom loves color–the house they just moved from was very colorful with green walls in the main living area. So since she painted everything neutral in this new house, she’s been adding lots of color through the accessories and whatnot.  And she loves blue and green if you can’t tell.   But the whole neutral thing + pops of color really does work.  :)

The room is coming along great and I can’t wait to show you more.  And I will when I take my real camera over there. :)

OH, I almost forgot.  I don’t know if Z Gallerie is advertising this or not, but through the end of August, you can get 20% off any item, per person per day.  This is probably just in stores, not online, but I’m not sure.  So when they bought the other 2 things, my mom bought the mirror, and my stepdad bought the picture so they could get the 20% off on both items. No, I’m not affiliated with them at all–just spreading a good deal. :)

Do you love Z Gallerie too?  I love how a lot of their accessories are big and oversized and make a statement.  And sometimes just 1 big piece is all you need…

xxoo,

That mirror is so intense! If you stand looking into it does it show your face in all sorts of weird angles? I’m hoping it does.

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
