Hey guys! Today’s a happy day since my Alabama family is coming into town and staying a week! I’ve been crazy busy like a mad woman getting everything cleaned up and ready. And the outdoor area wasn’t left behind either. You all know this summer I’ve been creating different WoCave’s, or places that I feel inspired and empowered. To me, that also means places that I can relax and chill. So for this particular WoCave mission I have some new outdoor patio additions to get me to that happy place. :)
Office | In the Bedroom
Hey everyone hope you had a great weekend! We actually had a slight front come through giving us some gorgeous weather! Today I’m excited to show you all our little office in the bedroom. Remember I had mentioned this before last year and how we needed one and even wrote a post on pretty ways to have a desk in your bedroom. I am all for utilizing every inch of your home for whatever purpose you need it to serve. And since many homes don’t have a dedicated office room or an extra room to spare, it’s completely fine to make a little nook in your bedroom, which is exactly what I did.
Replacing The Light Switches
That may not be the most exciting title you’ve ever seen, but trust me, it’s exciting. Why? Because I replaced a regular light switch in our hallway with a Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor dimmer switch! Why is this exciting? Because it’s hands free and we don’t have to physically turn on the lights anymore! When we walk in the hallway it detects motion and turns on like magic.
Okra | Roasted With Rosemary
I get asked all the time how I cook my okra. Remember that okra I planted a few months ago in our garden? Man it has really taken off. And because of that we eat okra at least twice a week, sometimes 3. :) If you follow me on Instagram (@decorchick1) you’ve seen an okra picture probably more times than you care to. But, everyone always asks how I make it, and one of my favorites is roasted okra with Rosemary. Mmmm!
Painting Stripes | A Striping Fail
Well yesterday I was on a roll doing a few projects, cleaning the garage, taking care of the garden etc, and then I also got a wild hair and tried painting stripes on a wall. I’ve been wanting to do them for a while and nothing like family coming into town to get your rear in gear. And in my case practically redoing 3 rooms in 1 week. Not really. But sort of.
Anyway…my striping attempt numero uno was a fail.
