Things are moving quickly around here in the Christmas decorating department! The house is about finished, just still trying to clean up some of the clutter still. But anywho, today I am showing you our Christmas mantel for this year, and I am really digging it. It’s simple, yet grand, and sometimes simple and grand is all you need.
Down here in good ole Texas we don’t have crazy winters or anything. I wish sometimes we did, but then again I don’t see how people up north live day to day in knee-deep snow so it’s probably a good thing I’m in the South. That doesn’t mean though we don’t use our fireplaces every opportunity we get! I promise you the moment it hits 59 degrees here, all chimneys here in the South are just-a roaring.
With that said, most of you will know I don’t have a fireplace in our home, but my mom does so I went and did her a favor and cleaned out her fireplace that hasn’t been cleaned out in about 20 years! Yes, I am, quite the awesome daughter.
We’re kicking off the first of December with a new wreath I recently made and I think it’s one of my most favorite wreaths ever! Really! It’s a Christmas ornament wreath, and it’s all shiny and silver and makes me happy.

Some of my favorite gifts I have received have been kitchen items. They are typically very useful and practical, and can be pretty! Did you all know The Home Depot carries kitchen products? They actually carry oodles of things that I wasn’t aware of. But when I saw while shopping online all of the great kitchen things I was amazed!
I have some BIG news today friends!! Over the past several weeks my husband and I have been working like crazy people giving our garage an overhaul! More so my husband, since I still went to bed at usual time while he stayed up late in the garage. Bless him.
Remember three years ago I wrote a post on our horrific garage? Well fast forward 3 years and it only got worse. Much worse. But I’m happy to report it is amazing now!!

The other day I went into the dollar store for something else other than wreath supplies, but when I saw all of these pretty and sparkly stems they had, I couldn’t resist. And this new gold leaf Christmas wreath was born.
Hi all! Hope you had a great weekend. I finally was able to snap a few photos of our much new and improved breakfast room over the weekend. I mentioned a few weeks ago we took advantage of World Market’s big furniture sale they had and got our new table and chairs from there. And I just love them so much.
Hello friends! I was honored to be invited to participate in a decorating challenge from Pottery Barn! We were each sent their Tanner Nesting Tables, and were challenged to use them to create 2 different looks, in 2 areas in our home. I love the look of nesting tables since they are so functional and can be used in many ways. You never can have too many side accent tables am I right?
The first look I came up with was to use them mostly as a Fall display to hold some pretty accessories. More of like an art work display, if you will.
One of the things about blogging is that you always are discovering new companies and shops, and of course blogs! I think it’s a great thing to get out there and support the hand-made shops especially, because those items are made with love, and most likely from a person just like you and me. And we all need support right? :) When Stephanie from Ooh Baby Designs contacted me about a giveaway, I took a look at her Etsy shop and fell IN LOVE! I couldn’t believe I haven’t run into her before while browsing around.
