A Valentine Party

Hey everyone, to get us all in the mood for Valentine’s Day, I decided it would be fun to have a little link party where you all can show off all of your Valentine’s day decor, crafts, mantels, vignettes, etc.  Anything goes as long as it’s Valentine related. :)

So when will it be?  Glad you asked.

Yes that’s right, next Wednesday February 1st, so 1 week from today.  I’ll pin some of my favorite projects that y’all link up too!

I’d love for you to help spread the word so everyone can party here next week.  It’s gonna be fun!!

xxoo,

Decorchick!

I thought I should finally stop lurking and leave a comment! I so enjoy reading your blog. I’m so jealou about your trip to Hawaii! It sounds like paradise! The dresses you’ve picked out are fab!

I’m so excited to hear that you’re pregnant! And guess what? I am pregnant too! I’m 22 weeks!

I’m doing a series on my blog at the moment where I have 30 items of maternity clothing, which I have to remix over 30 days to produce 30 different outfits. It’s to stop me slumping into maternity tents!! Well, that’s the plan, anyway!!

Anyway, thank you so much for your blog – I love it!

Sounds fun! I’m already coming up with ideas. BTW, you crack me up, nice sense of humor. I just found your blog a week ago. Where have I been the last two years? I can so relate to you, especially your house because the layout resembles mine. Only you kicked tobacco road to the curb and I haven’t. How does a warm color girl live in a cold color world? I’m going to read some more of your posts on making the transition.

What a good idea, Emily! It’ll be fun to see lots of Valentine’s Day inspiration all in one place. And you’re smart to plan it for February 1–by then everyone should be in the Valentine’s Day spirit!

Hey! I got my tutorial on the little Valentines headband up. I know it’s not a home project but it was super fun and easy!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
