Orange You Glad You Like The Color Orange?

So, that project I mentioned the other day we were starting? Well, it involves a lot of orange. And my husband. The very visual, creative type husband. ;) And since this is his room, I obliged and said “fine,” maybe even after a few temper tantrums occurred.

But when a man asks for orange, by golly, you give him ORANGE.

Orange Paint Swatch | Decorchick!®

Not rusty orange, not red orange, BRIGHT ORANGE!! Can you sense my enthusiasm? :)

Sure I’ve painted our laundry room in an orange, more coral, but that’s a tiny room. This room is ummm…bigger. It really is a good thing I at least like the color orange!

So let’s see how this goes. Wish me luck? Wish us luck? Pray for our marriage?

xxoo,

As wives we forget we can’t always have our way with décor. It’s the art of compromise. It’s what makes a good marriage! ;) Can’t wait to see what you come up with. I’m sure you’ll make it beautiful!

I too have orange in our bedroom which is quite large – but what I did was paint ONE wall the orange and the other three are neutral – the wall our bed is on is orange – we have vaulted ceilings in our bdroom and it turned out beautiful – I knew the entire room would be overwhelming. I first used an animal print comforter and solid brown curtains with heavy texture but recently changed out the animal prints with a neutral linen color coverlet and used orange and a soft turquoise with a little green mixed in the various prints and a different throw at foot of the bed. I also lighted it up with new lamps with burlap textured shades and changed up the artwork and used the same soft turquoise color curtains. My hubs loves it! It is actually quite relaxing with the softer color scheme for spring/summer. We both wanted orange but not a solid orange room. I got a Benjamin Moore orange – it is lovely and everyone loves the accent color wall.

I overdosed on orange – like the SW 6887 on that chip – in high school (early 70s) and still cringe in the orage paint chip section so I’m of no help here! Look forward to seeing the completed project and your hubs will be happy!

You will be fine! It is always paintable! And since that is his room; don’t go in it! HAHA! Oh, that that will be one less room you have to decorate during Halloween and Thanksgiving!

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
