Pretty and Pink Ombre Dresser

I have a quick furniture redo for you all today with this now “new” pink ombre dresser!

Pink Ombre Dresser Redo | www.decorchick.com[pinit count=”horizontal”]

Last year when everyone was doing ombre stuff I got tired of it really quickly. But certain pieces are just made to ombre.

This dresser we got on Craigslist with the rest of Emma’s nursery furniture about 5 years ago now.

White-Dresser

Say what?? Can’t believe she’s almost 5. Sniff.

I was ready to chunk it to the curb and get her something new for her room, but my husband suggested I just redo it since the size and height were good for the space we were working with. Smart guy. Some of the drawers and the bottom were loose so he tightened them up for me which then made it easier for me to go along with his idea.

I already had the pink paints for this job too so it worked out great!

At first I put them in these mini roller pans, but after using the foam roller on one of the drawers, I decided it would be easier to just use a paint brush so that’s what I used. Then I could have saved those 4 paint trays for something else since I could just dip my brush into the cans instead. Live and learn.

The colors used are all from Sherwin Williams in their Duration line (latex, satin finish), and from the top left going clockwise and are:

It was really just as simple as painting on 2 coats of paint, then putting a coat of polycrylic on top to protect it. Super easy! I didn’t need to sand this piece beforehand because of the finish that was already on it, but you may need to with what you are working with.

Anyway, I’m glad we salvaged it because it looks great in her room! I can’t wait to show you all. Really. It will be about another month though, so stay tuned!

And the original hardware was of course an awkward size that you can’t find anywhere, so I improvised and just used the 2 holes and put separate pulls on each. I was lazy and didn’t want to fill in the holes and re-drill them. The cute little hearts add a girlish touch anyway, so I’m glad it worked out. :)

Do you have any furniture you could do a little updating to?

xxoo,

Decorchick!

    Cute!

And I love your idea of using two separate pulls! We have a dresser that has impossibly sized hardware, that I want to replace… I might just have to use this idea!

Awesome job as always! I love the ombre! I have not tried that one myself yet. The knobs are super cute. Another thing you could do is use ribbon or pieces of fabric and tie bows or knots on the from as pulls. I have it done like that in my daughter’s room and it is precious!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
