Nursery Update: The Prettiest Monogram Ever

Hey guys! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted about the nursery. I know I know. I won’t even list excuses but I can say that the full room reveal will be written about before she is walking and toddling around okay? Hold me to it. Even though the room has been technically “done” for quite some time, there were a few final finishing touches I needed. And one is this gorgeous monogram I got from Southern Nest. Oh my heavens it’s so pretty!!

Southern Nest Monogram

It really finished off the look in that little corner with the bookshelf. The antique scale I already had and the vintage shoes are from the antique store.

If I were smart and thinking, I would have tied on a pretty ribbon to the top of the monogram. Duh Emily! I will have to do that before the reveal. ;)

But the monogram comes neatly packaged in an unfinished wood so you can paint it whatever color you’d like.

Then I just spray painted it with some white gloss paint from Krylon.

White Monogram

And that was it! Then I hung it up.

So pretty right? Now I’m dying to go up and put a ribbon on! They are so delicate and intricate so handle with care. This would be so pretty hanging above your child’s bed or crib too.

Oh and the monogram I got is huge at 24 inches. You can see the different styles here. A lot of people use them as door hangers, like instead of a wreath or on top of a wreath, and I love that idea.

What do you think? Do you love monograms too? Everything is just better with a little bit of personalization. When in doubt, monogram it. :)

xxoo,

Hi! New follower here – save and fell in love with your coral and navy bedroom via twitter.

I’m not usually a monogram person, but this one is so gorgeous that I may just change my mind about liking monograms! I think it will look beautiful with a thick satin ribbon holding it up.

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
