A Girl And Her Gadgets

Well yesterday was my birthday! Yep, I turned the big 18.  Not really but at least I still feel like I’m 18 right? I took a poll on my Facebook fan page yesterday too and asked everyone how old they thought I was and I got a lot of nice, funny, and weird answers. Haha.  So you’ll have to look there to see my age! :) But anywho, gadgets.  I love gadgets.  My husband loves gadgets and I think it’s his fault I’m a gadget girl now, specifically an Apple gadget girl.

And this is my newest gadget for my birthday.

Ipad

I held out as long as I could on getting an Ipad.  And in fact I never really wanted one because I just thought it was a giant Iphone, which I already have.  But this year I decided I really wanted one, like, had to have one yesterday kind of want. :) Of course that didn’t happen because they are pricey, but my husband did get me one for my birthday.  Bless him.

He has had one ever since they came out and I never really messed with it.  Honestly it drove me nuts that every time you move the screen it switches views and vice versa and it never was the right view when I tried to use it.  Annoyed the heck out of me. But mine works great.  :) And I actually can’t believe I have the newest version of the Ipad and he still has the 1st generation.  Kind of unheard of around here!

So yea, I’m an Apple gadget girl.  I wish their gadgets were cheaper though!  So now I have the Ipad, the Iphone and my Macbook Pro.  I am in love with all of them.  And it’s funny they all do the basically the same thing, yet are so different. Haha.

I’m still getting familiar with my Ipad though and haven’t really done much with it yet. I do love the dictation feature though where it will type out your messages for you. Way cool.  Are you an Apple lover too? Do any of you have the Ipad? What is your favorite feature?  Any favorite must have apps?  The only app I have downloaded so far is Facebook. Go figure!

xxoo,

Happy Birthday, girlie. LOVE the white iPad. Yes. . you have to get Flipboard. In fact I need to blog about it. It’s a way of reading all of your favorite blogs or sites like a book. You just flip through and it shows you the latest post of each. It rocks our world over here. xoxo

Happy Belated Birthday! You still feel 18 and I still feel 28! Let’s stick to those! I have zero Apple or other gadgets, but am very much a techie…just tend to have “champagne taste and a beer wallet” as the old saying goes! Enjoy the iPad…I hear great things from many about them!

Happy birthday and congrats on your new toy! The screen flipping used to drive me bonkers too … But you can turn the mute switch into a screen lock under “Settings -> General -> Use Side Switch To:”. Hope that helps! I think the three most used apps I have are Feeddler Pro for blog RSS feeds, Paprika recipe manager and, of course, Pinterest.

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
