Things I’m Loving

From time to time I like to fill you in on good finds and things that I just like in general, and here’s a few more things to add to the list. :)

1. L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Balm

Loreal Lip Balm

I saw a commercial for this lip balm the other day and had to try it. I bought that pink color and the nude and love them both.  It adds just a sheer tint on my lips and makes them really soft. Love.

2. Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes

These make my face feel SO good and they clean it well too.  And the smell is yummy!

3. Aden + Anais Swaddle Blankets

aden and anais swaddle blanket

These are perfect for the new baby and are 100% cotton muslin and are so light, soft and comfy.  They swaddle GREAT too and I’m not a good swaddler…but I’m getting better. :)

4. Mudpuppy Wooden Magnetic Alphabet Magnets (playful patterns)

Pretty Magnetic Alphabet LettersI’ve been wanting to get Emma some of those alphabet magnets for the fridge for a while now, but wanted something a little more “stylish” than the regular plastic primary colored ones.  And then a quick Google search for “pretty alphabet magnets” led me to these on Amazon and I snagged them up.  They are super adorable in person too, and they also come in numbers etc.

5. KidKraft Magestic Dollhouse

Kidkraft Dollhouse

I mentioned it was Emma’s 3rd birthday the other day and this was her gift! We ordered it on Amazon and it’s almost got a 5 star review. I did a lot of research on dollhouses before purchasing and went with this one for several reasons.  It’s HUGE, made of wood, will last forever, and there’s plenty of room for both girls to play now when Ellie is older.  And the furniture is all wood too and super cute.  Just a warning though if you do buy this, it will take several hours to put together.  My sweet husband stayed up till 4:30am the other night putting it together so Emma would have it the morning on her birthday.  That’s love. :)

That’s what I’m loving.  Now what are you loving lately?  Fill me in on things I’m missing out on!

xxoo,

Thanks for the tip on the lip balm! I don’t like a lot of color on my lips, but they do need a little something. The swaddling blankets are the best!!! I got them as a shower gift and didn’t think much of them, but they are the best swaddling blankets ever (I never could swaddle my boys). My cousin who gave them to me let me know that even though her girls are almost 2, she still uses them. Her twins had serious runny noses and their nanny used the blanket to wipe their noses and there was no irritation. Something to remember later on!

That lip balm is my favorite. It was out before the baby lips, but baby lips got so much hoopla I was curious enough to buy one. Turns out I prefer the L’Oreal!

My step niece has the magnetic dollhouse and she loves it- my sister bought it for her birthday. Would recommend it for little princesses!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
