Well, I Had A Lot to Show You This Week, But…

Ever had one of those weeks or days where you have so much you want to write about and show off some cool projects, but it just doesn’t happen that way? Well that would be me this week! There’s so much I want to show you all (um, hello kitchen!) but the cards just aren’t lining up for me this week. It took me 1 1/2 hours yesterday just to take a few pictures! And 1 1/2 hours is like eons to a mom of 2 little kids.

I’ve also been in my bed the past 2 nights this week by 9:00 ready to drift off into lala land. I have been SO tired. Like, I cannot keep my eyes open kind of tired. It’s really weird. I have no reason to really feel like this, because I’m still eating great, working out, drinking tons of water but something apparently has caught up with me. I hope it leaves soon!

So with that said, I’m listening to my body and just going to chill this week from writing and having to worry about editing pics, taking pics and all that jazz. A little break now and then is necessary (from whatever type of work you do) so I think this is my week. :)

I’ll be back next week with some kitchen posts and then hopefully the full reveal soon! I can’t believe it’s the same kitchen! See I really want to show you but argh, that dang tired bug. It’s evil. :)

Oh, and my cousin sent me this article about mom’s on the iphone the other day. Have you read it? You must. I’m totally guilty of that and I’ve been SO much better this week. Maybe that’s why I’m so tired. Haha. And you know what’s funny? I’ve had much longer battery life throughout the day and not having to charge it every day at 7pm like usual. Sad, I know.

And so you aren’t totally bored the remainder of the week, you can always tour our home, and tour the molding gallery for some projects. I’m working on a project gallery too (ahhh now THAT’S tiring!) so all of my projects will be under one tab. Eventually. Like, in a few months more than likely. Haha.

What about you? Ever need a break? I wish my break was in Hawaii right now…

xxoo,

Decorchick!

Good for you! I actually don’t think most bloggers take enough vacation time and I’m working on getting better at taking a break here and there. :) I took a week off at the beginning of this month and it was refreshing! I have 3 little ones (almost 1, 3, and 4 1/2) and am in school part time as of this year so blogging’s got to go down a notch on the priority list. I realized people probably don’t notice when I skip a day here or there anyway (especially since Facebook only shows posts to like 10% of your fans. Ha!). And ditto on Hawaii.

It could just be the bug of “mom is exhausted”. :) You do so much ~ I agree that it’s good to take a break. Hope you rest and rejuvenate! If you have a sitter, go & have a facial or massage or mani/pedi…or just do all!

Don’t feel bad about not feeling well or having enough time to post this week’s projects. You will drive yourself crazy trying to get everything done. I have an almost 2 year old who keeps me very busy and sometimes I get frustrated with myself for not getting everything checked off my list. I always try to remember to enjoy my time with her because I don’t want to miss out on her being little. :)

I had a week just like that last week! Thankfully I was able to rest up, and I am feeling much more inspired now. Hope you enjoy your little break, and give those cute kiddos some extra squeezes. :)

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
