Silhouette Machine Giveaway! {And a Discount Code!}

Wheeeeeeee!!  I’m so thrilled to be able to give another Silhouette SD machine to one of you lucky readers!  The Silhouette team is SO kind and generous and it really is a pleasure to work with them.  Their product really does live up to all of the hype!

AND GUESS WHAT?? The Silhouette machine cuts fabric now!!

The Silhouette team sent out the new fabric interfacing kit to try out, and let me tell you, it was SO easy to do.  It came with very clear directions too–something I definitely need. :)   And for those of you that already have a machine, you don’t need any special blades or anything.  All you need is the new fabric interfacing (clean cut or sewable). Easy peasy!

And in just about 5 minutes I had these little cuties cut out…

Yes, they are birds.  :) I downloaded them from Silhouette’s online store.  I probably should have used a fabric that wasn’t a pattern, but oh well, they are still cute!

All I did was put the fabric on the heavy cutting mat after following the instructions using the clean cut interfacing…

Then loaded it in my Silhouette machine with the settings set at 3 for speed, and 33 for thickness, then it cut them out.

It worked perfectly!

So now that I had the little birdies, I decided to make a little Spring sign.  I cut out the letters on cardstock using the machine of course, and glued everything down with a glue stick.  But of course with the fabric birdies, I could have ironed them on something or even sewed them onto something. Lots of possibilities!

This is the sign I came up with.

Cute cute!  The “welcome spring” sign was downloaded from Silhouette’s online store for .99.

    I am CRAAAAAAAAAZY excited to enter! I’ve been following a BUNCH of blogs that use these and I have to say…there are quite a few projects on my list. I love using it to create a FABULOUS wall effect in the kids play room. I could organize the pantry using fun labels, I could organize the mud room creating specific areas for each child….I could basically organize my life!     I spend LONG hours making decorations for my little girls birthday parties, friend birthday parties and ( this weekend) baby shower. Doing all of the work without this Sillhouette SD is crazy talk . I am currently helping redecorate a friend’s daughter’s room and this machine would seriously make my life so much easier! I own a hair salon, have two little girls under 3 yrs old and really have NO time anymore to hand cut and (try) print everything myself. After I make decorations I always think..wow if I had the sillhouette I could have done that in 15 minutes instead of an hour! THIS Sillouette would CHANGE MY WORLD :) I have been saving my money for a sillhouette SD but I just was suprised with a positive pregnancy test and I have no maternity coverage so now that money is going to the baby :) My husband felt bad cause he knows how much I want this so his sweet butt put his guitar on craigslist today to buy me a sillhouette!     Ever since I knew about Silhouette SD cutting machine I can’t stop thinking of how my life could be with it. Everywhere I look I find an application for this machine. Until this moment, I had only imagined that it would be terrific to create a machine able to cut and to “silhouette”. Now I have seen that sometimes dreams come true. I even say more: I swap a 30-year-old boyfriend for a Silhouette SD cutting machine. I am sure that this last is going to give me more satisfactions. I NEED IT NOW!!

    I am tooootally crazy about this great invention. If I were so so so lucky to win a Silhouette machine, I think I would use it for every kind of projects. Oh God! So many things are coming to my mind at this very moment! I love crafting and I often find that different techniques can be connected to each other somehow. I would cut out templates for stenciling, for example. An idea just came to my head, you can cut any shape you like out of vynil or any other plastic material, stick it on the surface you want to decorate and paint it with Gesso, instead of paint, to add volume (then you can take the sticker out of the surface). I can also think of a thousand ways to decorate a child’s room using the Silhouette SD cutting machine, and his/her clothes, too!
