Well this is the week. The week of Blissdom. Hopefully y’all aren’t sick of hearing about it yet. But, I’m ready and expecting good things to happen this week. I am extremely excited to meet my online friends, and make new friends. I don’t want it to feel cliquish and don’t want anyone to feel left out. I am new to this blogging thing too like many of you are, and some of you are even veteran bloggers. Regardless of how many followers you have, how many views you get on your site a day, how many times you’ve been featured, we all share the same passion and bring something unique to the table with our blogs and online shops. Even though blogging can unfortunately feel competitive at times, we need to remember this: Psalm 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” We are all different and special, and God doesn’t care how big or small our blogs are. Love the gifts that He’s already given you, and embrace your uniqueness.
Okay, so that intro wasn’t anything like I had originally planned in my head, but it just came to me while writing, so I’m believing there was a reason for it. :)
Now for more Blissdom talk. I wanted to show you a few things that I’ll be taking with me…some fun things.
That’s my clutch (used as wallet), list taker to jot down notes, and a little wallet for my business cards all from Knitty Bitties. I LOVE her stuff.
Here are what my business cards look like in case you are interested. I just love them and they are front and back.
Cute right? You all know how much I love mustard and gray. :)
And Knitty Bitties saved the day and is sending me this camera strap, which I should have today!

I won’t be taking much jewelry with me, but I will be sporting this necklace that Lisa Leonard made for me.
That’s one of my very favorite necklaces. And I SO cannot wait to meet Lisa!

Those are the ruffled scarves from The Pleated Poppy. Love them! And yes, I’ll be in regular clothes and not sweats as I lazily modeled here. But I can’t wait to meet Lindsey too!
And for most of the time while in Nashville, I’ll just be in jeans and these…
Gotta have the boots right? Both pairs are flats too and extremely comfortable. I hear you do a lot of walking at the hotel and that it’s huge? So nope, no crazy heels for me. I don’t think I could even walk in heels anymore. I wear flip flops every.single.day.
And I know I’ll be thinking about this little one the entire time.
She always sucks her thumb and touches her ba-ba, a/k/a belly button at the same time. Isn’t that funny? Or weird? I think it’s funny and she does it ALL the time. :)
So that’s about it. I can’t wait to see all of you that are going to Blissdom. It’s going to be so great. Just look for the girl wearing the boots and the cute scarves. Oh wait, that will be pretty much everyone there. :)

I’m so bummed that I’m not going. I had to choose between Blissdom or Blogfest2011. I had to choose blogfest since its more design related and because with the launch of the magazine House of Fifty (have you subscribed?), it was best for me to be in New York. I hope you have a fabulous time and make sure to take lots of pictures and mention me to everyone;-)

… there’s a kid in my neighborhood who used to suck two fingers and touch his belly button simultaneously. It was adorable when he was a year old and did it ALL the time. It’s not so adorable now that he’s a first grader … and still does it ALL the time.
I’d break that habit when you get back from your conference.
Girl, you are stylin’! :) You are so right about being content in our own skin. It’s way hard when you’re around so many amazing women. I felt that way last year…like a fish out of water. I’m hoping that this year is better because I’ve made many new connections since last year.
Anyway, yes Opryland hotel is MASSIVE. It’s one of our favorite places to go. :)

Your first words … well, you know that those same thoughts have been on my heart and I suspect you’ll have to deal with them a lot at this conference. Just keep repeating your verse and I’ll be praying for a spirit of encouragement that will leave ya’ll filled up :).

P.S. I wouldn’t worry about your daughter. I’ve known lots of friends whose little girls (seriously, seems to be a girl thing) did this and grew out of it by school age or were taught when it was okay (i.e. at bedtime/naptime/etc.) and when it wasn’t (can’t lift us our dress in the store, etc.) … don’t sweat the small stuff :).
