Organized Office Desk | Decorchick!®

Some Desk Organization with New Pretties!

Nothing gets me more excited than pretty new goodies for your desk. Whether it be in your home office, your workplace, school room etc., because why? Because that’s where inspiration happens. I may not know what I’m going to write about from one day to the next, but by golly, if I have items that are nearby that are pretty… View Post

Welcoming Fall With An Updated Entry and New Bookcase!

It was below 80 degrees here ALL weekend, so out came the Fall decor! I am so excited to show you our updated Fall entryway with this pretty new bookshelf that I decorated for the season. [pinit count=”horizontal”] It looks SO much better in this little area by our front door now compared to what we previously had… That is… View Post

The Best Drywall Anchors and Screws

Happy Friday friends! I’ve been meaning to write this post forever now because I’ve used these anchors and screws for several years, and they are definitely the best! Forget those crappy ones that come with whatever product you bought (especially curtain rods!) and use these instead. [pinit count=”horizontal”] Trust me when I tell you that when you use these, your… View Post

First Day of Kindergarten | Decorchick!®

How The First Week of Homeschool Went

This homeschooling thing is definitely a crazy new adventure. But it is pretty awesome I have to say. I didn’t know whether I would hate it and dread every day, but I actually ENJOY it. And so does Emma. That doesn’t mean each day has been lollipops and gumdrops, because they haven’t. Here is Emma on her 1st day of… View Post

Dark Herringbone Floor | Decorchick!®

Beautiful Herringbone Floors

Hope you all had a great weekend! I have wood floors on my mind today. And not just any wood floor, but a herringbone pattern wood floor. Our bedroom is in desperate need of floors in there. The carpet is absolutely ridiculous with stains I have no clue where they originated from, and both girls do a pretty good job… View Post

2 months later, and it’s still hard. So very har 2 months later, and it’s still hard. So very hard. It is the strangest, most emptiest feeling one could have, and one that not everyone understands.

Tonight was the 3rd griefshare meeting that I’ve attended, and that does help to be around others who have lost someone close. But it is also so painful hearing their stories. And it’s a night during the week that I’m forced to think about how he’s no longer here. It’s helped me to realize all of the thoughts and actions we have are normal, and the things we do that are odd to others, are actually part of the process.

I haven’t been able to wear these shirts of his yet (he wore them every single day. The red one was his “fancy” one), but I’m glad I have them. It’s just really crappy I can’t see him in them any longer. 💔

This is a pain like no other. I watched him take This is a pain like no other.

I watched him take his final breath at 7:24 this morning. The scent of him is still so palpable.

Gone too soon, and years stolen from his wife and grandkids.

We live in the same small neighborhood, right around the corner on the next street. Now the girls can’t ride their 4-wheelers to go see him. We can’t just swing by to pick him up. He can’t go on our walks anymore. There are lots of no-longers, and it is crushing my heart.

Who am I going to call now when I have a question on how to fix something? He had a solution for everything usually saving us hundreds of dollars. Everything was fixable to him, rather than hiring someone. And often he would find the answer on YouTube.

Who am I going to text with when the Astros make a good or bad play during the next World Series?

I want to hear his voice again. I want to go over and cut his hair again. I want to make him another pie for his birthday and Father’s Day.

It hurts so much.

I love you Daddy.
