Wainscoting Question

I’m going to add the wainscoting like I did on this wall, and in the office, to the living room.  There are really only 2 connecting walls in this room, and one of them is full of windows. So, I plan on doing it to this wall on the right… But my question is, would you also do it on… View Post

A Sweet Valentine Room

I’ve been playing with Polyvore again.  Once I get started it’s hard to stop!  But I created a valentine room and used some cool art from Red Letter Words.  They have a sweet “Love is Everything” section that is perfect for Valentines’s day (and any other day for that matter!). That’s a little snippet…head on over to Red Letter Words’… View Post

Fresh Decor Updates

I wanted to freshen up our living room a little bit and bring in some light colored accessories.  Changing out your pillows and lamps are all simple changes you can do without spending a ton of money, and it gives you a brand new look. Here’s the living room before (and please forgive the blurriness and date stamp of the… View Post

A Little Fabulousness in Blogland

I thought it would be fun to do a surprise feature post of some projects that have recently made me smile while blog-hopping.  So, surprise! :)  Hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Michelle at Ten June made this fabulous starburst mirror and painted her dining room a rich navy blue which is gorgeous! I love the navy… View Post

The Toys, The Toys, Oh…And The Toys

As the little one grows, so do the toys.  Sometimes we can’t resist buying that gigantic stuffed animal at Cracker Barrel for her, you know, since she’s already claimed it and is hugging it oh so tightly with her little paws carrying it around the store. Yea, we are those parents…sometimes. But this little basket I was using for all… View Post

2 months later, and it’s still hard. So very har 2 months later, and it’s still hard. So very hard. It is the strangest, most emptiest feeling one could have, and one that not everyone understands.

Tonight was the 3rd griefshare meeting that I’ve attended, and that does help to be around others who have lost someone close. But it is also so painful hearing their stories. And it’s a night during the week that I’m forced to think about how he’s no longer here. It’s helped me to realize all of the thoughts and actions we have are normal, and the things we do that are odd to others, are actually part of the process.

I haven’t been able to wear these shirts of his yet (he wore them every single day. The red one was his “fancy” one), but I’m glad I have them. It’s just really crappy I can’t see him in them any longer. 💔

This is a pain like no other. I watched him take This is a pain like no other.

I watched him take his final breath at 7:24 this morning. The scent of him is still so palpable.

Gone too soon, and years stolen from his wife and grandkids.

We live in the same small neighborhood, right around the corner on the next street. Now the girls can’t ride their 4-wheelers to go see him. We can’t just swing by to pick him up. He can’t go on our walks anymore. There are lots of no-longers, and it is crushing my heart.

Who am I going to call now when I have a question on how to fix something? He had a solution for everything usually saving us hundreds of dollars. Everything was fixable to him, rather than hiring someone. And often he would find the answer on YouTube.

Who am I going to text with when the Astros make a good or bad play during the next World Series?

I want to hear his voice again. I want to go over and cut his hair again. I want to make him another pie for his birthday and Father’s Day.

It hurts so much.

I love you Daddy.
