Cute and Cheap Rug Alert!

The other day I was browsing around Lowe’s and came across this. It’s a 5×7 jute rug that has a trellis/geometric pattern to it, and it was only $34!! Yes, THIRTY-FOUR dollars. :)  I’ve been looking for one to go in our breakfast room for a while, so I was so happy to come across this.  And the green goes… View Post

Where Does All That Stuff Go?

Have you ever wondered where all of the bloggers put their “stuff” a/k/a decor and accessories when they aren’t using them? Well, I always wondered that when I started blogging, especially for the ones who are always making cute crafts.  I’d always think “where in the world can they store all of this stuff?!”  Hence the reason I’ve slowed down… View Post

Redecorating Above the Cabinets

Some people don’t like anything above their kitchen cabinets, and some do.  I happen to like a little something up there.  But what I previously had up there wasn’t working for me anymore. Here is the before (with the kitchen still painted Tobacco Road): What was bothering me about those dishes and pitchers up there is that they seemed a… View Post

I’m Still on Holiday Time

I don’t know what the deal is, but this week I still feel like it’s one long holiday week off for some reason.  Maybe it’s because Summer is here now and there’s lots of entertaining and activities to do with the little one? Something I did learn at Blissdom is when you have nothing to blog about, don’t.  But since… View Post

Opportunities and Summer Talk

I’ve had some big news (for me) that I’ve been keeping from all of you, but now I can spill the beans.  You know I love curtains, and you know I love Curtainworks.com, yes?  Well, I was extremely blessed to be able to write a summer design trend piece that will live exclusively on Curtainworks.com! Opportunities like this really amaze… View Post

October will be 7 years for Randy too.👏

Best thing we ever did!😍

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.
