Never in a Million Years Would I Think I’d Be Going to This…

Yes, I get to go to Blissdom!!  I really can’t believe it actually.  And I am sure that I won’t believe it till I am on the plane flying to Nashville.  I remember the days back before I even started my blog, just reading them and doing things around the house, and my husband telling me that I’ll go one day.  I just shunned that idea immediately and thought “yea, right.”  Then I started blogging in May, and well, God had a plan apparently!  And I’ve never been to Nashville so that will be fun!!  It’s time to bring out the country in this country gal.

So, in case you aren’t familiar with what Blissdom is, it’s a blogging conference where anyone can go and connect with all of their fellow blog friends and get to actually meet and talk in person!  How fun will that be?  I hope I’m not starstruck when I meet a few of my idols.  Or I hope I’m not dumb enough to ask for their autographs or something. Ha!  No seriously though, I am really looking forward to hanging out with everyone.  Of course I’m hoping we actually learn something too, in between all of the mingling. :)

So who’s going?  Please go!  I want to meet all of you.  It’s January 26-28, and I think you have until January 1 to buy the ticket at the discounted rate?  But don’t quote me on that.

I’m excited and really nervous at the same time.  This will be the first time I’ve ever left Emma.  I think the longest she’s been gone from me was maybe just 4 hours or so.  Not THREE days!!!   But, she will be in good hands with her Daddy during that time.  She loves her Daddy!  He gives her plenty of sweet treats and slips in some strawberry milk in her cup. :)

How could you not give treats to that monkey face?

But I’m also nervous because I don’t want to scare my roomies when I get up in the middle of the night rummaging around for my 2 a.m. snack.  I better stock up beforehand since there won’t be any food in the hotel room.

Soooo,

Blissdom Conference ~ Nashville ~ January 26-28, 2010

Sounds awesome, I wish I was going! Nashville is ridiculously far from Idaho (the flight alone would be mucho dinero!). I can’t wait to hear all about your experiences there.

N’ville is just down the road! Haven’t been over to the hotel since they reopened it last month. Heard they have done some very nice reno since the flood.

Are you going to see any local sights during your stay?

      December 22, 2010 at 8:56 pm

That’s what I hear too. Can’t wait to see it.

Well I’d love to see some sights, but not exactly sure how much time there will be. I’m sure we’ll squeeze in something. :)

Ooh, that sure does sound like fun! I was at the Opry Land Hotel a few years back for a Shaklee conference! It’s ginormous! Have you been ever? Oh you will have a blast I’m sure! Yeah, definitely pack snacks. There’s a few place to get food but they close early. No late night snack options for that 2 AM craving lol.

Have a blast. So wish I could go, that would be funnn!

So happy you are getting to go! have fun! I am so glad to hear I am not alone at 2am eating a snack!!! I completely thought I was alone in that and my family says it looks like a rats been in the kitchen every morning :o) Do you have to have something sweet or you cannot go back to bed? It’s this intense need for sugar and once I have a little bit I’m right back to bed :o) I too take snacks when I am places I know I won’t be able to get something easily in the middle of the night :o) thanks for making me feel “normal” ha ha!

So happy for you! Nashville is a terrific place, and I’m sure Opryland Hotel is better than ever since it has been rebuilt after the flood. We lived in the suburbs of Nashville for 15 years, and I worked at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center before the kiddos were born. Still miss TN and still have lots of good friends there. I just know you are going to love it!

And while I’m here, just want to wish a Merry Christmas to you and those you love!

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
