Layered Rugs

Hi guys! Hope you had a great weekend. You all seemed to really like our new cowhide rug layered on top of our big area rug in the living room, so I wanted to gather a few more images of this look from around the web. I think it’s such a great idea because it can save you money by not having to buy another huge area rug, but instead just change up the look by buying a smaller rug to place on top and hide that messy stain. ;) And of course because it’s pretty!

We layered a cow hide in our family room over our sisal and love it for winter months. Great round up!

I think I’m still loving the cowhide layering, but I do like the first picture with the two neutral rugs.. it’s such a great solution if your favourite rug is a bit too-small!

Love the look of layered rugs – especially the one from Budget Wise Home! I like that you can pair a neutral rug (that can be practical – absorb cold air and etc) and a patterned one for a whole new look. Plus then you can swap the smaller one out for different looks in different seasons.

Love the idea of layering rugs. We are still on the hunt for a second rug, but you just gave me a great idea. Thanks!

Really love the mushroom color and oyster bay. Serena and Lilly no longer have the mushroom color available I really need the color code for it from sherwin Williams. So glad I found this blog I have been searching far and wide for perfect greige colors and green greige colors. Thanks

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
