I’m Still on Holiday Time

I don’t know what the deal is, but this week I still feel like it’s one long holiday week off for some reason.  Maybe it’s because Summer is here now and there’s lots of entertaining and activities to do with the little one?

Something I did learn at Blissdom is when you have nothing to blog about, don’t.  But since I don’t follow directions very well I still wanted to pop in and say hi to you all, even though I don’t have an exciting project to share.  I’ll get my mojo back.  Right after it cools down about 50 degrees. :)

So until then, I’ll leave you with this picture.

She’s into dress up lately, and is such a joy to hang out with her all day.  I want her to have a great summer with lots of pool time!

So are you still on holiday time this week too or is it just me?

xxoo,

Decorchick!

I am absolutely still on holiday time!! Today is a catch up on my blog reading day (too hot to do anything else!)… back to posting next week. Enjoy your sweet little one– my girl graduated from high school last weekend. Seems like yesterday she was playing dress up, too!

I am just like that. I have felt like I should be home hanging out at the pool or doing things outside all week instead of being at work. Not a very good way to be productive.

On the subject of not posting if you don’t have anything… please just post that you don’t have anything (as you did). I hate when I loyally follow a blog and they are MIA for a week or two or more with no idea what is up. Did they stop blogging? Should I just stop checking? Is everything okay? What happened? I become “attached” to my blogs and while I don’t need details (but I do like them – LOL), I just want to know if I should bother coming back. So thank you for this post. And I am with you on the holiday time. In fact, I was just talking to a co-worker about that. LOL. Have a lovely weekend…

Haha thanks for the insight Marin! If I ever decide to skip the country or anything and leave my blog in the dust, I’ll be sure and let you all know. :)

      Have a good weekend too!

Nope, I’m still there with ya! I really hate the short week sometimes cause then I’m always a day behind at work and trying to play catch up the rest of the week! TGIF for sure! Kick your feet up this weekend!

I’m feeling the same way! Summer is here, the kids are out of school and so my brain thinks I am on vacation too.;) I totally lost track of the days this week!

    Have a nice weekend!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
