Let’s Have a Party! {A Molding Party}

Hi everyone!  As I’ve been working on the boy’s room, I was thinking it would be a great idea if I had a link party where all of you can show off any projects you’ve done that included any kind of molding, wainscoting, what have you.  That’s how I was inspired to do the paneled wall by seeing it on… View Post

Progress on the Boy’s Room

This is where we are on my stepson’s room with the paneled wall. Everything has been caulked, spackled, and sanded so it’s all ready to be painted white. Hopefully I can do that tonight after American Idol. (Go team Casey and team Lauren!). And we decided instead of having just a bunch of boxes on the wall like I was… View Post

She really needs no introduction, but Beki creates beautiful jewelry all set in sterling silver that can be personalized to your liking, so that each piece is more sentimental and meaningful. Wood vs. Laminate?

I’m saving our pennies so we can get something beautiful like this… So we can replace this nasty stuff. Ewwwwww.  There are spots like that all over this cheap-builder-grade-shouldn’t-even-be-called-carpet, but it is.  We will have to do the rooms in increments, but the first one being done will definitely be the living room.  Then the office. I’ve already gotten a… View Post

The Boy’s Room

My stepson (and my stepdaughter’s) rooms need some serious TLC.  We haven’t really done anything to their rooms.  Lot’s of hand-me-down and mixed matched things in their rooms.  But it’s time to fix that and make their rooms a nice little retreat. Here is his room as it is today. And I am sorry–it was so hard to get a… View Post

Blog’s Got Talent

There is so much inspiration out there in the fabulous world of blogs.  Sometimes I get over-inspired and want to take on too many things! But I love blogging so much because everyone is vulnerable and puts their projects out there for the world to see.  It is hard work and deserves recognition, so I’d like to highlight a few… View Post

What You Do With Ba Ba, Twinkle Twinkle, and Sunshine

My little girl loves us to sing to her, and she has a few favorite nursery rhymes.  One of them including Ba Ba Black Sheep.  Every night when we tell her it’s time to go night-night, she kind of yells BA BA at us with a slight whimper…you know, to remind us to sing. So I had this bright idea… View Post

My Junk

We have not 1, not 2, but THREE junk drawers in the kitchen. Why oh why?  I’ve been meaning to clean them out for about 2 years now.  And there’s nothing better to get your mind off grey paint choices than organizing drawers. I should warn you about the before photos, but I’m sure you’d expect nothing less from me… View Post

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
