I don’t have anything huge to share today, but I will show you some new… View Post

Mother’s Day…A Blessing

I just wanted to give a quick little shout out to the most wonderful lady in the world, my Mom.  She is one of the most generous ladies I know. Something funny is that I ordered 2 copies of the book “Reluctant Entertainer” because I heard how good it was around blogland and thought it would be something we’d both… View Post

A Blogger Meetup

Over the weekend my friend Megan from Honey We’re Home hosted a little meet-up in Houston for local blogging gals to get together and hang out, eat, and shop!  It was so much fun.  It was like everyone had been friends for years which is always comforting. Here’s the group of the girls. Everyone was so nice and friendly and… View Post

So Long Tobacco Road. We Had a Good Run.

Well, I’m sure you all saw this one coming.  I had said I wasn’t going to repaint the kitchen until I stained our cabinets darker, but yea, my paint addiction kicked in at the end of last week and I just went for it. And as silly as it may sound, painting over Tobacco Road was a little sentimental for… View Post

A few of you have let me know the rugs in our living room are now available in an 8×10 size at Overstock!  So if you were wanting the 5×8’s like we have which are still sold out, the 8×10 is available… View Post

This Is Going To Be Challenge

My Stepdaughter’s room.  I’ve kind of been dreading this post showing you the before pictures because I don’t want to hear how we should have done the kids’ room’s first when we moved in here since the rest of our house is so pretty, yada yada (there are also plenty of undecorated areas besides the kids’ rooms too).  Yes, I… View Post

She Did It Again

My Mom, that is.  Remember the cheeseburger cake she made last year?  Well I thought that was definitely blog-worthy material, and so is this.  This was one of the treats she made for Easter yesterday. How cute is that??  She baked some bread and made it the shape of a bunny and filled the middle with some spinach artichoke dip…. View Post

He Lives

One of my favorite songs says it all. Lyrics: Sung by artist Israel Houghton Intro: Verse 1: More than a baby in a manger To whom nobles would humbly bow their knee Or the young Man who heaven knew as Savior He is alive in me Verse 2: More than the Man who walked on water, Or the One who… View Post

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
