The Birthday Party

I told you all I was keeping it simple right?  Well, I stuck to it and did! Just got some balloons and Elmo decorations, and I was done.  And I didn’t even cook one thing. It was a joy, let me tell you. We just ordered lots of these… And let people eat whenever. The only “pretty” thing I did,… View Post

The Breakfast Room Makeover

Hi everyone!  I started the breakfast room redo a few months ago (maybe more), and finally just finished it.  Hooray for several month long projects! ;) Here is the before, of when I redid it the last time… I got tired of the Tobacco Road and repainted the kitchen (Sherwin Williams Balanced Beige) to go with the rest of the… View Post

When American Meets Japanese

Well my brother is getting married tomorrow!  Aren’t they a cute couple?  And see, I wasn’t kidding when I said July was a busy month around here!  But I am very happy for them and I’m excited to have a new sister-in-law. I see a lot of homemade dumplings in my future. :) Congrats y’all!

The Living Room: Past and Present

Ever find yourself looking through old pictures and reminisce about things, whether it be your family, children, and in this case, decor?  Well that’s what happened to me yesterday, so let’s take a little journey through some of the “looks” our living room has had. This was not long after we moved into our house. That was hand-me-down furniture, and… View Post

It’s on Sale!

This is your last chance to get the Silhouette SD machine. Why? Because it’s being discontinued. :(  But that’s only because they have come out with a new machine, which I don’t have many details about yet. But I sure am excited about it because I’m a gadget girl and like new fun things to play with. It’s hard to… View Post

A New House

Well, not for us so don’t get too excited, although I’d happily take this house in a heartbeat. This is my Mom and Stepdad’s new house. Isn’t it beautiful?  They just moved in last Friday.  I’ll give you a little tour of the inside. The entryway: And it used to look like this when they bought it, with this very… View Post

A Magic Pill

Do you sleep?  This magic pill is something that is good for you and something your body needs that you may not be getting enough of (I know I don’t).  And that something would be this: Why am I telling you this today?  Well because when I find out something that’s cool, pretty, a good deal, or in this case,… View Post

The New Living Room Wall!

Well our gallery wall and board and batten is done. And….we love it!! Let’s first take a look at the before picture of this wall in our living room before I show you the rest. You know, the one where the picture is hung too high? :)  Well since this is a big 2-story wall, it needed something with a… View Post

I Love Our New Pillow(s)

Have you seen a particular pillow that has big yellow rosettes on it floating around blogland?  I’ve seen it on SO many blogs and thought it was so cute, so I finally asked my Twitter friends the other day where in the world this pillow is from. Isn’t it cute?!  So in case you didn’t know about the pillow, it’s… View Post

The Birthday Mantel

A certain little girl is turning 2 this weekend! Oh my.  We are having a little party here at the house, but I’m not going crazy on decorations or anything (or food), so don’t be expecting some elaborate birthday party post.  Although it was pretty, last year’s party was just a little too nutty for me.  I found myself checking… View Post

Making Your Doors Pretty With Molding (and a How-to)

Hi everyone, hope you had a great weekend! July around here is a crazy busy month, but actually the whole summer has been. :) But, I am so thrilled with how this latest project I finished up last week turned out. Like, it may be one of my favorite projects to date. Remember when I had my Molding Link Party… View Post

This Was a Beast…

to hang up.  This is what we’ve been working on this week in the living room. And when I say we, I mean my husband and I.  So excuse my absence this week please.  I’ve been doing about a million other things too and having fun with the little girl.  But I have some goooood stuff to show you soon…don’t… View Post

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
