A Free Cruise? Really?

This is totally random today so please excuse me. But have you ever received one of those little cards in the mail claiming you’ve been selected to receive 2 complimentary 8-day cruise passes, AND 2 free roundtrip airline tickets if you just call the number? So guess what I did the other day?  I called.the.number (hanging head in shame).  I… View Post

My Awesome Antique Finds

Hey all!  I don’t know about y’alls Goodwills and thrift stores, but for me, they’ve been a total bust lately.  Granted I haven’t gone much this summer, but I do pop in occasionally searching for the next treasure.  So since I haven’t had any luck at those stores, I decided to go to a really good antique store here in… View Post

Z Gallerie Goodness

A few weeks ago I took my Mom to Z Gallerie for the first time.  I was hoping she would love it (how could you not?!), and hoping it wasn’t too modern for her.  But apparently she is getting in touch with her modern side like I am, and she loved the store.  Yay for shopping vicariously through someone! So… View Post

The Highlight of My Week Was…

Yea, I gave our freezer a makeover last night.  Exciting stuff people.  It would have been more exciting for you if I had taken a picture of all of the stuff that I threw away.  It was scary.  Very scary. But I am happy I found our Steak-Umms that have been hiding in the back.  Philly Cheesesteak anyone? So yep,… View Post

What Makes My Jaw Drop

White kitchens. Yep, I talking about white kitchens again.  I just can’t help it. I can’t get them out of my head.  Every time I see one on the internet (and in person) they really just take my breath away.  I love the dark kitchens too, but there’s just something about white that gets me all weak in the knees…. Maybe My Thumb Isn’t Brown After All?

Remember when I showed you all the patio makeover?  Well that was at the end of June, and I had those plants that are in the photos a few weeks before I posted it.  Here is another pic to refresh your memory… I have the rubber plant on the left end, 2 Coleus by the other 2 columns, and the… View Post

We’re Back in Business

Well it turns out my site didn’t really have any down time at all during the switch. And for those of you that don’t know what I’m talking about, I switched host providers and the process went perfectly.  My site was always down off and on (especially last week), and slow.  But now I am happy to say the site… View Post

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
