How to Grow With Facebook

You all use Facebook right? I’ve been using it since day 1 when my blog started. I don’t think I’ve ever missed putting a post on! :) BUT, what I didn’t know about is something called a landing page.

And now enters Myra.  My hero, my mentor, my friend who is way smarter than me and still happily puts up with my stupid questions daily.  Yes, daily.  She and I have become really great friends.  We chat all day long, every day.  Well not ALL day long, but you know what I mean. She’s a savvy gal, I’m not.  She’s a great friend and a real friend.  And she’s helped me with my blog…a TON.  Sometimes it may seem some bloggers are just out there for themselves and won’t share any of their information or tips for success.  But not Myra.  She’s always been extremely helpful and passes along valuable information, and I like to do the same for all of you too.  If you ever have any questions about anything please feel free to email me because I’m an open book! :)

Oh yea, this post is about Facebook.  Maybe I should dedicate an entire post to Myra one day. :)

Anyway, Facebook.  There’s this thing called a landing page and apparently it’s really good to have for whatever reason.  It just gives the new people that come to your Facebook page something pretty and interesting to look at, and gives a sampling of what your site has to offer.  And if the description sounds like something people may enjoy reading, they are likely to click and like your page. Yay for new fans!

And now when someone visits my Facebook page for the first time and are not a fan yet, this is what they will see.

Awesome right??!

And then AFTER they like my page this is what they will see next.

And those are your fan and non-fan landing pages!  Isn’t that cool?  I can’t get over it.  Your fans can subscribe to your blog, follow you on Twitter and Pinterest (and whatever else you choose to add), all right there from Facebook.

All of this is under the welcome tab on my Facebook page, like this:

But since y’all are fans already, I think you will just see the “Thanks” image above and all the other info, if you were to go and view my little welcome tab.

Now for the details….

Myra did ALL of this for me (and yes, I’m paying her because it’s a lot of work and time consuming).  She created those images, inserted the links, and walked me through everything on Skype when it was time for me to insert the code.  It was quite hilarious I have to say.

So what I’m trying to say is that I have NO clue how to do any of this if you were to ask me.  I couldn’t even tell you where to begin. And that’s why I’ll just send you to Myra’s site so you can contact her if you want, and if you’re like me and want it done for you, maybe y’all can work something out.

And I know you all are dying to try out the landing page to see how it works, so go and like Myra on Facebook because hers is set up like mine too!  :)  And don’t forget to like mine too if you haven’t already. *giggle*

So do you have a Facebook landing page?  Did you know what a Facebook landing page was before you read this?  It’s all new to me!

Thank you Myra, love you!!

Hmm, I do mine myself each day. I know some people use Networked Blogs and that’s supposed to put on your FB fan page automatically when you have a new post. But I have no idea if that always works either…

so nice to have talented friends!

I heard about landing pages sometime last year and made myself one. It doesn’t have that 2nd feature once a new fan ‘likes’ the page but it does allow them to click different parts and link them to my blog and etsy site!

Thanks for sharing! I have been creating these for clients for a couple years now. What’s even better is instead of static images, I can incorporate a slideshow into the welcome pages, which makes it a lot more compelling. These are a must have for each facebook page!

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
