Do You Notice Anything Different…

About this picture?

If you guessed that my chairs are missing you’d be correct.  I sold them on Craigslist for a nice chunk of change. :)  I did keep one chair just because they are SUCH great chairs.  I can always cover it.  I still need to sell the table.

Remember when I said I have big dreams for our dining room?  It’s getting quite the makeover, so anyone want to take a guess at what I’m doing? :)

xxoo,

Decorchick!

I don’t have any guesses as to what you are going to do. I just wanted to say that I love the white dishes you have hanging on the wall and in your hutch! :-)

    Good for you babes!

Not that I didn’t like your dining room set…okay, who am I kidding, I hated it. BUT, I love the room and of course, your built-in :)

Congrats on getting a good price on the chairs. I’m sure you’ll sell the table quickly, too. Hmmmm, my guess is…it’s not going to be a dining room anymore. You’re going to turn it into a different kind of room. Just a guess and I’m probably wrong!!

I think you are going to do board and battan or beadboard. That’s what most people in blogland are doing these days. Am I right?!?!

Well, besides the obvious…paint, only because you mentioned it before. wink wink I’m going to say you are ripping up the carpet and going with hard wood and you, for sure, will install it yourself. Am I right, am I right??? I’m sure it will be splendid what ever it is.

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
