Big Shout Outs and an Update

Last week was amazing.  Really amazing. I never thought a pantry would be loved by so many!  It did get a lot of recognition, which I think is beyond cool.

I wanted to say thank you SOOO much to everyone who featured some of my projects last week.  I greatly appreciate it!!

So thank you again everyone, it’s such an honor!!  I added your link under my “I’ve been featured tab.”

And thank you to everyone who has left comments on my post from yesterday about link parties.  Apparently this can be a pretty heated topic for some, and that’s the last thing I wanted to do was get people fired up.  To eliminate this problem, I’m just going to stop linking to anyone that I am certain has a problem with me not having their button on my site.  And I will probably cut my list down and not link to as many anymore.  This will free up some time for me too, so yay!  This will of course mean less features, but who cares.  Let’s be honest….everyone loves it when they get featured on a project they did.  But, it’s not worth the time and effort if you know you are offending the hostess by not having their button on the post.  I’m sorry to anyone this offends, but I simply cannot add a button at the end of each post with all of the parties that are going on in blogland.

And I don’t think I said this yesterday…but, if I were to update my post each day with the correct parties for that day like some have suggested, then by the time the hostess actually gets around to reviewing all of the link ups, there is a good chance her link would already be removed because it would be a new day with new parties listed.  Then I would get in lots of trouble for having nothing! Does that make sense?

So, that’s my 2 cents!  Haha.  Hope y’all are having a fabulous weekend!

xxoo,

Decorchick!

Wow, I did read through a lot of your responses yesterday. Man, I am not sensitive at all. I don’t care about all the link buttons and I think that if anyone is looking at my party and they see a link they want to check out, then they have found what they were looking for. I do agree with you about trying to link to a bunch of parties. Way too time consuming everyday. Guess I am either lazy or just don’t have the time for that. Anyway, have fun with your blog and do what pleases you. I am sure you aren’t going to please everybody, and I am sure you are not going to offend everybody either. Just do your thing the way that makes you happy. Hugs, Marty

Girl, that pantry was AMAZING, so it should have been seen ALL over blogland.

I read every single comment on your post yesterday about the linky parties. Lots of good input.

I really enjoy your site, so thanks for sharing everything. I read some of the comments on yesterday’s post, and thought to myself that it was silly that some people would complain about their button not being on your post…. and would then have no link at all. Kudos to you for cutting down your workload :)

    August 22, 2010 at 10:20 pm

Love your site. I so agree with you about the Linky Party and posting the buttons. You just can’t put them in the post, it creates a huge long scroll to get to the comments. I prefer to put it on the side bar. I limit how many Linkies I participate in because of all the clutter of buttons on my blog. (Hope I make sense). But you are right on! Thanks for expressing your feelings about it all. I hope someday you do a Linky Party. Karie

  6. KasiaJ says

    August 22, 2010 at 11:16 pm

I also agree- I link up to a bunch of parties and don’t include their buttons in my posts- and I’ve noticed my links being deleted from parties before. However, I do have a page listing the parties that I participate in, and their blogs are in my blog roll on my sidebar, so I decided to just forget it and stop linking to where I was being deleted. So, in short, I totally support you.
And I love your pantry, but I think I already commented about how much.

  7. KKonze says

    August 23, 2010 at 11:48 am

I agree with KasiaJ and was going to suggest the same thing…add a new page to your blog with all the link parties you participate in. I used to have all the buttons on my sidebar (shrunken down to fit 3 across) and I noticed that it slowed down how quickly my blog would load. So I decided to make a page dedicated to link up parties and consider that ‘following the rules’.

And if the link hosts are going to get too strict and delete links and start alienating their super talented linkers (is that even a word?), like DecorChick, then the quality of their link up parties will go way down! It’s a choice they’ll have to make on how to manage content with link back traffic.

Getting stronger—inside and out!💪 I’m not Getting stronger—inside and out!💪

I’m not just building muscle—I’m building longevity.

There’s something powerful about moving heavy weight. It reminds me of what I’m capable of—not just physically, but mentally too.

Lifting weights isn’t just about aesthetics. For women, it’s essential. Here’s why:

1. It preserves bone density and helps prevent osteoporosis

💪As we age—especially post-menopause—our bone density naturally declines. Lifting weights helps slow or even reverse that loss, reducing the risk of fractures and improving long-term mobility.

2. It builds lean muscle and boosts metabolism

💪Muscle burns more calories at rest than fat, which means strength training supports fat loss and makes it easier to maintain a healthy weight without extreme dieting.

3. It reduces the risk of chronic diseases and supports long-term health

💪Lifting improves insulin sensitivity, lowers inflammation, and supports heart and brain health—helping reduce your risk of conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and cognitive decline.

If you’ve been thinking about starting your own strength journey—this is your sign. It’s never too late, and you don’t have to be perfect—just consistent.☺️
