A Farewell to My Weekly Wrap Up Posts

Well, in order to give me just a little more time to do other things, I’ve decided to not do my wrap-up posts any longer.  I’ve really enjoyed the extra time I’ve gained since not linking to so many parties, so skipping out on the feature posts that I do on Sundays will help me out too.  And I know y’all won’t be crushed by it either. :)  Any new features that I know of I will still try and put on my featured tab.

With one less thing to keep up with, it with will ease my mind just a bit, and hopefully give me more time to focus on other projects.  I know y’all would like that better anyway.  :)

And in other news, we had a garage sale yesterday and we did pretty good considering it rained a little, and the fact that there was a big city wide garage sale that same day!  Yea, didn’t know about that one.  :) But it’s ok, lots of big things were sold so that was great.

Thank you to my newest sponsor, Donahue Wellness for Shaklee!  I’m loving the Get Clean products so far and can’t wait to tell you all about them!

Don’t forget to check out my other amazing sponsors as well!  Wired Whimsy, The Vintage Pearl, Knitty Bitties and Lisa Leonard. :)

Hope y’all are having a great weekend!

xxoo,

Decorchick!

I’m pretty new around here, so I’m not accustomed to the wrapup posts. But I think you are so wise to simplify whenever possible. We should all reevaluate our priorities on a regular basis to make sure we aren’t misdirecting our precious energy. And if it means you’ll have more time to spend on your clever decorating projects, well, that’s just icing on the cake for all of us!

I totally understand the need to simplify things. I haven’t linked up lately myself. I’ve just fallen behind on things around here and I’m trying to play catch up. Can’t wait to see what project you are working on. You always come up with something great!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
