Recent Thrifty Finds

I had a good day thrift shopping and actually found some items I was on the hunt for.  I spent a total of $7 for all of this.

Now you may be thinking that isn’t really exciting, but I was because I needed another cheese dome and some flower pots.  I have a few projects lined up for those pots and the cloche.  :)  Ohhhh the projects…never ending.

And look at this gallon of Ralph Lauren faux glaze!

It was .50!!  YES, 50 cents!! And it’s a full gallon.  Score!  I’ll never need to buy glaze again in this lifetime.  There were several things of paint that I didn’t have time to rummage through because it was disgustingly hot that day, but they had several Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams paints. I’d love to get my hands on some BM paint.  Never used it before.

These small flower pots were .50 each, the medium was $1.00, and the larger one was $2.00.

Guess I better get to work now!  :)

I’m so jealous of your super deals. I went to GW last week to find terra cotta pots and they wanted $6 for a medium one and $3 for the little ones. It was ridiculous. I have to find a better, cheaper thrift store.

Can’t wait to see what you have planned for your goodies!

Oh yuk! GW is expensive for that kind of stuff. Our thrift stores are way cheaper than GW. Hope you find some soon!

Warning…I have a very weird sense of humor. I’m laughing at the term “BM paint”…I seem to recall a few toddlers I know using some of that. :)

Some great finds. I like the pots, which can be painted easily and filled with some pretty flowers or herbs. Can’t wait to see more projects.

Hello, nice to meet you. I found you through New Friends Friday.

I know exactly what you mean about being excited. I love a good thrift store or yard sale find. A total treasure chest! And the cheaper the price, the treasure just grows more magical. 50 cents, I love it!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
