The Highlight of My Week Was…

Yea, I gave our freezer a makeover last night.  Exciting stuff people.  It would have been more exciting for you if I had taken a picture of all of the stuff that I threw away.  It was scary.  Very scary. But I am happy I found our Steak-Umms that have been hiding in the back.  Philly Cheesesteak anyone?

So yep, no exciting projects or new decorating happened this week.  Just enjoying life.  But at least I did have $31 in coupons when I grocery shopped yesterday, and that doesn’t even include the discounts with my Kroger card.  I saved a bundle.  And use those coupons the cashier gives you when you check out!  You know, the ones they always roll up with your receipt which I just used to throw away?  I’ve been saving them lately and I used $18 worth just from those.  Good stuff.

Have a great weekend everyone!

xxoo,

Yikes, it made my heart stop momentarily when you said you used to THROW MONEY AWAY. I couldn’t have read that right…..sounds like you saved a bundle this week! I’ve been perusing the Walgreen’s ad every Sunday and stocking up on great deals for my daughter going to college. I really need to clean out my freezer, too. We have a few meals lurking in there…

Nice savings…I’m back to clipping them too. Kind of a chore, but always a thrill to see that savings amount at the bottom of the receipt!

Those coupons that the cashiers give you are called catalinas.

You did a good job! I need to go through our freezer and fridge! I have some things in the fridge that really really need to be thrown out! I love getting those coupons with my receipt. One time while getting my medicine I got a cat litter coupon for the same kind that I was about to buy! I was so excited! :)

Well it looks like we have the same exciting life. I just did mine too! My husband hovered over me the whole time, doesn’t like to throw anything away. But he gives in when the expiration date is two years old. I usually have to sneak out dated items in the trash, for fear he will pull them out and put it back. Lol. You know, just one of those things you don’t really know about a person until your married.

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
