Plantation Dreaming

You know what I think is beautiful?  Plantation shutters.  The big fat wide kind.  And I want them, like yesterday.  :)

We were at a friend’s house the other night (Hi F.M.!) and they had really big 2-story windows kind of like we have in their living room.  But the difference in their windows is that they have the plantation shutters on all of their windows and it looked SO pretty.  Like, I couldn’t stop staring at them.  I was amazed at how different they made the room feel.  And to me they are kind of like an architectural detail, like molding is. That’s probably wrong, but to me it is because it was just so pleasing to look at.

And since I have no idea when we may be able to get some for our home, I’ve pulled a couple of images off Pinterest for us all to admire. :)

The first photo is my favorite because those are the fattest ones I think. But I’d happily take ALL of these rooms wouldn’t you?  So beautiful.

So I’ll be plantation dreamin’ for a while I’m sure.  Until then, do you have any in your home?  If so you’re a lucky duck! :)

If anyone recognizes those photos from anywhere please send me the link to it so I can credit them. Somehow they disappeared off of Pinterest when I went to get the hyperlinks!

And if you are in the market for any new window shades (not plantation shutters), RediShade is having a fabulous deal where you can get 20% off any of their items!

I LOVE plantation shutters! I wanted to purchase them for my living room but the room has three very tall long windows and it was going to cost a fortune for custom shutters. Someday . . . :)

I’m with you – love them! I got a quote and it was $1600 for 4 windows in our family room. Needless to say we did not get them. Out of the budget!!! (at least for right now!!)

I have them in my office… love them! I did wait a long time for them. We got them a few years back and it was around $1000 for 4 half-windows, from Home Depot.

I’ve loved plantation shutters from the moment I first laid eyes on them in my teen years. I’ve dreamt of having them in my home ever since. I’m still waiting, but one day…

We have plantation shutters in our master and in the dining room- they’re over some huge windows we have. I adore them- I think they look gorgeous and they open up and give lots of gorgeous light :)

Or a regional federal government may well create an law putting limits
on cigarette smoking in joint regions or stating that property managers have the capacity to create regions of the residence smoke-free of charge.

These people told that their sex life is
improved as they have either stopped smoking completely or reduced the frequency of smoking.
Instead of acting as a physical or mental stress reliever
    it actually increases them.

Keys can also be had as one of the bonuses for successfully inviting friends
to play via Facebook or Game Center. As you progress further
into the game, the trains start appearing closer together,
so you have to time your swipes right to avoid getting hit by the trains.
I wager most of the packed house at HP Pavilion had been watching the band for a good part of that.

Hi would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re working with?
I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different internet browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most.
Can you recommend a good web hosting provider at a honest price?
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
