Do You Polyvore?

Have you heard of Polyvore before? I hadn’t until recently.  It’s an online site that lets you create design and fashion boards, for free!  There are thousands of pieces already uploaded on Polyvore’s site, so you won’t have a problem finding anything to create your own board, but you can still upload your own things too, if you wish.

You can create a beautiful room like this….

Blair's Room

Or a chic outfit like this, with a little bit of spooky added.

transparent.

I didn’t create these boards but I liked them.

Polyvore is a great way to design a room in your home first, without making the commitment to buying something, then figuring out you don’t like it or it doesn’t work in your home.  You can play around with super expensive furniture and create a lovely room, then go out and try to recreate that room finding more budget friendly items that are similar in style.  Fun stuff!

I’ve been playing around creating a dream room using Polyvore and will show you all on Friday.

Now I am not a computer savvy gal, and even I can do this.  It really intimidated me at first, but AnNicole from Our Suburban Cottage has a great post on how to get you started using Polyvore.  I’ve read that post about 50 times now I think.  I promise it’s easy once you get the hang of it.  Just follow her instructions to a T, then you can start creating and dreaming. Warning though, it’s slightly addictive. :)

Do you use Polyvore?  Have you heard of it before?  There are other sites out there too with the same concept.

I don’t Polyvore but I did just start making mood boards. I’m a photographer so I find Photoshop intuitive (which is weird) – so I used that instead.

That is a pretty nice thing to have on hand….I actually just use Adobe Illustrator and create storyboards with it. So, when I surf the net and find a pic of a piece of furniture, color, fabric, etc that I like, I put it on my board for the my vision room that I am aiming for. This immediately helps me to see whether or not it’s going to work for me. The nice thing about the polyvore thing is that you don’t have to go far to find inspiration.

I haven’t used the Adobe thing. This is a whole new world for me! But yea, I found so many things on Polyvore. So cool!

I love Polyvore! Once I get started I cant stop. You have to go to http://us.mydeco.com/design/ You can also make moodboards, design a 3D room based on your floor plan with real products from the site. And you can re-decorate a room with paint wallpaper and flooring. It’s free too!

Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using?

I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.

The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!

I’m curious to find out what blog system you happen to
be utilizing? I’m experiencing some minor security issues with my latest blog
and I’d like to find something more risk-free. Do you have any solutions?

Howdy! I could have sworn I’ve visited this site before
but after looking at some of the posts I realized it’s new to me.

Anyways, I’m certainly delighted I discovered it and
I’ll be bookmarking it and checking back often!

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
