DIY Fairy Garden

Well this turned out way cuter than I had imagined. Our girls had been wanting to make their own fairy garden for a while, so my husband took the reigns on this project and did a DIY Fairy Garden with them. They all had fun making this, and it’s a great inexpensive project to do with your family!

So come on in and visit this little enchanted pot of cuteness. :)

I just love how it turned out!

First they started out with a planter from Walmart, and some BHG Annuals also from Walmart. He bought Minifamous Calibrachoa, Lucky Lantana, Magadi Lobelia for the annuals, and then he bought Rainbow Selaginella and Curly Fig Ficus to use as the ground covers.

Start out by adding potting soil, and then plant the ground covers toward the back so they can hang over the side.

Then they planted the annuals just sort of all around the back filling in spots. You want the taller plants in the back.

Then for the accessories:

  1. The white picket fence was bought at Hobby Lobby. My husband wanted to give it aged look so he rubbed it with sandpaper, soaked a few minutes in hot water and loose tea leaves, then rubbed the fence pieces with the tea leaves.
  2. All rocks used were aquarium rocks found in the pet department at Walmart
  3. Fairies and furniture pieces were found at our favorite local nursery, Enchanted Gardens.

TIP: Create contrast and look for different plants that have big leaves with small leaves, textured leaves with smooth leaves, cool-colored foliage with warm-colored foliage, light-colored furniture with dark-colored plants, and vice versa.

I have a lot of pictures to share of the accessories and the actual garden, so get ready! :)

These are so sweet! I have been thinking about doing one of these for my patio but wasn’t sure where to get the decor for it! I’m definitely going to keep my eyes open for them now when I’m out and about! Thanks for sharing :)

What a fun DIY project you can actually do with your little ones. They can sure enjoy it because kids love fairies. The set up and the ideas behind it are really smart especially if you want something more unique to see in your garden not just for the family but for visitors also.

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
